Abstract: An unattended apparatus and method for isolating and relaying secure communications under adverse circumstances without awareness of encryption keys uses known and/or inferred characteristics of received transmissions to identify, isolate, and retransmit only friendly communications without decryption or re-encryption, and in embodiments also without awareness of applicable TRANSEC algorithms and keys. A channelizer digitizes energy received within a bandwidth of interest, which is then analyzed to detect chip timing, identify and demodulate pulses, and assemble secure messages for retransmission. In embodiments, the retransmissions use the original frequencies and TRANSEC parameters, and/or otherwise adhere to applicable TRANSEC and MSEC constraints so that the relayed messages are accepted by intended recipients. Embodiments provide interoperability with existing secure communications such as Link 16 and CDL. In embodiments relay nodes communicate via an out-of-band transport to determine which link has the best reception and which should retransmit a message.

Abstract: An off chip driver circuit includes a bias circuit and a driver sub-cell circuit. The bias circuit and off chip driver sub-cell circuit are in electrical communication with each other. The bias circuit includes two serially aligned diodes which are in an off-state when the driver sub-cell is in a functional mode and which are in an on-state when the driver sub-cell is in a cold spare mode. The arrangement of the diodes enables the off chip driver circuit to handle similar voltage signals in both the functional mode and the cold spare mode.

Abstract: A digital to analog converter (DAC) circuit is disclosed which employs isolation providing cascode devices to reduce data dependent signal distortion. A DAC circuit configured according to an embodiment includes a current source associated with each bit of a digital word that is to be converted. Each current source is coupled to a current switch that is controlled by the associated bit. The DAC also includes a cascode device coupled to each of the current switches through a feed line. The DAC further includes a summing junction configured to generate an analog output signal corresponding to the digital word based on a sum of currents provided by the current sources, through the current switches and the feed lines. The cascode devices provide impedance matching and isolation between the feed lines and the summing junction to reduce signal reflections between the current switches and the summing junction to improve conversion performance.

Abstract: A method and a system of managing a policy managed system that includes a policy managed element. The method restricts the policy managed element so that internal configurations and actions of the policy managed element do not violate any policy rules generated external to the policy managed element. The method also prevents the policy managed element from generating policy that exit the policy managed element. The method, at a policy executive element (PEE) located remote from the policy managed element, restricts internal configurations and actions of the PEE so that the PEE does not violate any policy rules generated external to the PEE. The PEE includes a policy generation point (PGP) that the method allows to generate new policy rules that do not violate any existing policy and provides the new policy rules to the policy managed element.

Abstract: A flash memory process and device for encrypting and storing data in a non-volatile flash memory associated with a host system. The device includes a flash memory, an encryption engine, a key store, a SRAM to interface with the host system, and associated control circuitry. When powered on, the device first determines if a valid encryption key is held in the key store. If a valid key is held in the store, a program flag is set when encrypted data in the flash memory is ready to be decrypted by the engine and stored in the SRAM for use by the host system, or when data originating from the host system and stored in the SRAM is ready to be encrypted by the engine and programmed into the flash memory. The device can be embedded in any host system wherein data must be encrypted while at rest in a memory.

Abstract: A method for reducing self-interference in a wireless network, such as a Link 16 network, while maintaining simultaneous multiple access takes advantage of the physical proximity of nodes in a localized subnetwork, such as a fighter-to-fighter subnetwork in a flight wing, by actively reducing the transmit powers used for subnet messages between the nodes. Calibration messages such as Precise Participant Location and Identification (PPLI) messages are exchanged between all of the nodes of the localized subnetwork, from which each node determines the identities, transmit powers, noise levels, and SNRs of all of the other nodes. The node then determines a link margin for other nodes, and sets its transmit power to a “safe” level for the subnetwork according to the lowest link margin.

Abstract: A multifunctional rangefinder capable of functioning as a rangefinder and at least one additional function. The multifunctional rangefinder comprises a laser transmitter for transmitting a laser pulse and an object lens, located at an inlet of the multifunctional rangefinder, for capturing light reflected by a target and focusing the reflected light at a first digital micro-mirror device. The first digital micro-mirror device has a plurality of micro-mirrors, and each of the plurality of micro-mirrors has an “on” position and an “off” position. A single detector element receives light reflected by the plurality of micro-mirrors of the first digital micro-mirror device. An optical condenser arrangement is located between the digital micro-mirror device and the detector element. An analog/digital converter is coupled to the single detector element for processing signals detected by the single detector element. A grating, a second digital micro-mirror device, first and second collimating lens are also provided.
