Abstract:
A structure which is transformable by inflation from a collapsed condition for storage to an erect condition for use has an inflatable tubular framework and at least one flexible web attached to and extending between two or more regions of the framework. The inflatable framework is formed by at least one inner inflatable tubular element (A, B) of flexible, elastic, air-impermeable material and having an inflation valve (13,15) accommodated within an outer sleeve arrangement of a material which is flexible but substantially non-elastic and restrained therein upon inflation. The outer sleeve arrangement is configured to include at least one branch point and/or at least one abrupt bend and the configuration of the inner tubular element or elements (A, B) corresponds to that (branch points (a, b) and abrupt bends (z)) so that the inner tube or tubes will substantially fill the outer sleeve arrangement upon inflation. Each inner tube (A, B) is formed by cutting and bonding of the air-impermeable material to provide a continuous inflatable compartment of relevant configuration and is inserted through an opening in the outer sleeve arrangement and fed through so as to fill it when later inflated in use.
Abstract:
A system and method for interactive video advertising comprising advertising overlays that are displayed on a video screen to prompt user interaction. User interaction causes additional advertising content to be made available in a user interface that may be accessed immediately or at a later time point. Advertising content that populates the user interface is chosen based on marketing and behavioral data and parameters. The user interface allows users to access advertising material, send advertising materials to other users and networks such as social networks, social media, telephone networks, wireless telephone networks, cellular telephone networks, computer networks, cable television networks, satellite television networks, video game system networks, the internet, individuals, or combinations thereof. The types of data and advertising materials that may be shared are videos, pictures, photographs, text messages, sweepstakes, contests, emails, telephone calls, popularity indicators, and combinations thereof.
Abstract:
An in-flight entertainment system with hand-out terminals is described. An embodiment of the invention comprises a server having digital content, which is communicatively linked to a communications network, a connector located proximate to each passenger seat of an aircraft, each connector being communicatively linked to the network, and hand-out terminals. Each hand-out terminal is configured to be coupled to one of the connectors to permit a passenger at the seat to which the connector is proximate to access the digital content.
Abstract:
A method of providing seismic data (such as marine seismic data). A seismic source is actuated at a plurality of source locations (S2, S4). For each source location, a multicomponent seismic measurement is performed at least one receiver location (S3). A reconstructing method is applied to each multicomponent measurement to obtain additional data corresponding to source locations additional to the source locations at which the source was actuated (S5). The additional data are output and/or used (S6).
Abstract:
One method involves the use of stored value account that may be used, for example, to make internet payments, and that can be credited using a variety of payment techniques. Such a method involves receiving money at a money transfer location from a potential purchaser. The money is then stored as an electronic record in a stored value account of the purchaser. This money is then available for transfer at the request of the purchaser. Upon such a request, the money may be electronically sent to a recipient and the stored value account may be debited.
Abstract:
One method involves payment of money to a recipient traveling to one or more foreign countries by entering into a remote computer money transfer information from a sender. The money transfer information comprises recipient identification information, at least one country where the money is to be received, and a payment amount in an originating currency. The money transfer information is transmitted to a host computer system. When ready to receive payment in the designated country, recipient identification information along with a request to withdraw a portion of a possible payment amount is entered into a payout computer. The recipient identification information and the request to withdraw is transmitted to a host computer system, and the requested withdrawal is provided to the recipient in the local currency.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for transferring data according to various aspects of the present invention may operate in conjunction with a computer system configured to connect to a p2p network. The computer may run a p2p communication program that receives a request for content via the p2p network. The computer determines whether to fulfill the request according to various criteria, such as whether the p2p communication program is currently accessing a second content from the p2p network and/or whether the first content is associated with the second content.

Abstract:
A method of disclosing transaction information to customers includes receiving at a host computer system a file comprising processing information. The processing information comprises a plurality of transaction categories and fee information associated with each transaction category. The method also includes receiving a message from a point-of-sale device requesting the fee information associated with at least one particular transaction category relating to a transaction with a customer and sending from the host computer system an electronic message comprising the fee information. The method further comprises displaying transaction information relating to the electronic message at the point-of-sale device and providing the customer the opportunity to cancel the transaction. The transaction may involve an exchange between at least two different forms of value.
Abstract:
An electrical device which comprises first and second laminar electrodes and a laminar PTC resistive element sandwiched between them, the device comprising (a) a main portion which comprises a main part of the first electrode, a main part of the second electrode, and a main part of the resistive element; and (b) a first connection leg which extends away from the main portion and which comprises a first leg part of the first electrode which is integral with the main part of the first electrode, and a first leg part of the resistive element which is integral with the main part of the resistive element. Such devices can be secured to circuit boards in a variety of ways, and to elastically deformed terminals. Preferably preferred devices contain two laminar electrodes, with a PTC element between them, and a cross-conductor which passes through the thickness of the device and contacts one only of the two electrodes. The cross-conductor permits connection to both electrodes from the same side of the device, and also makes it possible to carry out the steps for preparing such devices on an assembly which corresponds to a number of individual devices, with division of the assembly as the final step.
