Abstract:
A fastening element for adjustably fastening a sheet to a frame is disclosed. The fastening element includes an anchor for providing the frame with studs and providing for a holder which engaging the sheet with a contact surface. The holder can be assembled with the anchor in a limited number of angular positions relative to an adjustment axis of the anchor, an inner surface of the holder engages with a peripheral surface of the anchor at each position, such that the contact surface assumes a plurality of different, non-congruent positions relative to said adjustment axis, the studs protrude beyond the holder in the direction of the adjustment axis. The invention also discloses a wall element.
Abstract:
The present invention is provided with a mechanism for controlling the opening and closing of a door comprising a speed reduction means for reducing a rotational speed. A high speed shaft is connected to the speed reduction means and is connectable to a means for rotating the input shaft, and a low speed output shaft is connected to the speed reduction means. A governor is mounted on the input shaft for limiting the rotational speed thereof, to also regulate the rotational speed of the output shaft. A brake is provided for preventing rotation of the output shaft, and a self-closing mechanism is operatively connected to the door. The self-closing mechanism is adapted for storing energy when the door is opened to an open position, and a connecting means operatively connects the output shaft to the self-closing mechanism. A releasing means is provided for releasing the brake to permit rotation of the output shaft under the urging of the self-closing mechanism whereby the self-closing mechanism releases the energy stored therein so as to close the door to a closed position when the brake is released by the releasing means.
Abstract:
A hanger wheel mount wherein the mounting pin includes an annular land for contacting only a portion of the wheels interior surface. The use of the annular land reduces the pull required to move a door suspended by a hanger bracket. The roller or wheel includes an inturned lip which contacts a portion of the pin adjacent the bracket to reduce wheel wobble.
Abstract:
A linear mechanical drive with precise end of travel load positioning includes a drive shaft having a threaded portion intermediate two non-threaded portions, reversible motor drive turning the shaft, a load carrier element threaded on the shaft for pulling the load along the shaft, the carrier disengaging at the non-threaded portions thereby to precisely determine the end position of the carrier irrespective of continued drive shaft rotation. The carrier reengages to the threaded portion upon reversal of drive shaft rotation, and a load connector on the carrier element is adjustable for precisely positioning the load at one or both of the end of travel positions. Other features disclosed protect the drive against excessive mechanical wear and disengage the load from the carrier element for strain relief.
Abstract:
A sliding patio door assembly is disclosed of the kind in which the door, when it is being closed, moves bodily laterally with respect to the slide track; i.e., forwardly with respect to the closing door panel. When fully closed, the door is entered into a recess, and a weather seal is compressed between the door and a lip surrounding the recess. The door is controlled, as to its lateral movement relative to the slide track, upon crank arms, and it is a feature of the disclosure that the crank arms are constrained to pivot in unison but in opposite senses of rotation. Another feature is that the crank arms lie at 90 degrees to the line of the slide track when the door is fully closed.
Abstract:
A slider (41) for guiding the top of a sliding door (12) in a channel (42) comprises spaced cheeks (56) between which extends a rib (59) which engages one side of the channel, and flexible tongue (60) which flexes between the cheeks and is thereby biased into engagement with the other side of the channel. Another embodiment of door guide has a pair of wheels (113, 114) having enlarged rims at one end for engaging opposite walls of a door guiding channel. One of the wheels is inverted relative to the other. Thus, the rim of one wheel is at a higher elevation than the rim of the other wheel.
Abstract:
The synchronizing mechanism for the unfolding of articulated carrier elements which are outwardly extendable or inwardly retractable in a bellows-type arrangement on each side of a satellite body comprises a system of gear-train units placed alternately at one end of a driving carrier element. The mechanism is adapted to cooperate with at least one drive motor for folding-back or unfolding the carrier elements.
