Abstract: A handover method in a plurality of wireless networks includes selecting one or more candidate networks from the plurality of wireless networks available to a mobile terminal of a user; calculating the latest connection time with a serving network currently serving the mobile terminal; deriving a history utility function based on the latest connection time; deriving system utility functions of the candidate networks in consideration of user and system environments; deriving selection functions for the candidate networks using the history utility function and the system utility functions; and selecting one of the candidate networks as a target network for handover using the selection functions. A target network for handover is selected using not only a system utility function reflecting user and system parameters but also a history utility function reflecting history information, thereby reducing the number of handovers and enhancing service quality.

Abstract: A method of forming a wiring for a semiconductor memory device includes obtaining a semiconductor substrate, depositing at least one conductive layer on the semiconductor substrate under controlled conditions, such as substrate temperature and atmosphere temperature, to provide a conductive layer exhibiting a reduced surface roughness as compared to a comparable conductive layer deposited under uncontrolled conditions, and patterning the conductive layer to form a wiring.

Abstract: A printed circuit board and a manufacturing method thereof are disclosed. The method of manufacturing a printed circuit board can include: forming surface roughness on an insulation layer, coating a chemical compound onto the insulation layer that lowers the surface energy of the insulation layer, and forming a circuit pattern by inkjet printing on the insulation layer coated with the chemical compound. Certain embodiments of the invention can be utilized to improve adhesive strength between the insulation layer and the inkjet-printed circuit patterns, suppress spreading in the inkjet-printed circuit patterns to improve resolution, and reduce manufacturing costs by forming the circuits using inkjet printing.

Abstract: A display system includes a system module, a connector connected to the system module, and a display module connected to the system module through the connector. The display module includes a liquid crystal panel which displays an image, and a first printed circuit board (“PCB”) which drives the liquid crystal panel. The first PCB includes a ground layer having a first ground region electrically connected to the display module, and a second ground region electrically isolated from the first ground region and electrically connected to the connector. The system module is configured to transmit communication signals to the display module and/or receive communication signals from the display module. The system module is further configured to transmit a noise component, which is independent of the communication signals, to the display module through the connector.

Abstract: In a soft decision method for demodulation of a received square QAM (Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) signal, the processing speed is improved, and the manufacturing expense is reduced, by using condition probability vector values, which are soft decision values. A condition judgment operation is employed.

Abstract: A fusing device includes a pressing member, a belt member to rotate in contact with the pressing member, a nip forming member to support the belt member so that nip areas are formed on the pressing member and the belt member at contacting portions thereto, a heating member disposed away from the nip areas, to heat the belt member, and a tension application member to stiffen the belt member so that the heating member is tightly contacted with the belt member. The heating member includes a plate type heating element which is arranged at an upstream side of the nip areas, and to contact an inner circumference of the belt member, in an advancing direction of the fusing belt. The effective width of then nip areas increases, and the increased pressure is exerted to the nip areas, because the fusing belt enters a location where the nip areas are formed in a heated state. Furthermore, heating efficiency of the fusing belt is increased, because the fusing belt is heated while in a tight contact with the heating member. As a result, fusing performance is enhanced.
