Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for power allocation for sidelink feedback transmission. A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) include receiving one or more data transmissions from one or more other UEs, generating a feedback signal for each of one or more data transmissions, determining a transmission power of the feedback signal for each of one or more data transmissions based on at least one configuration associated with the feedback signal, and transmitting the feedback signal to each of the one or more other UEs using the determined transmission power.

Abstract: During device-to-device communication between two devices, a communication transmitted from a first UE to a second UE may not be reliably received by the second UE if the first UE is traveling at high speed. Therefore, a travel speed of a transmitting UE may be considered in determining a transmission configuration. According to an aspect, the UE may determine a travel speed of the UE. The UE may determine, based on the travel speed of the UE, a transmission configuration of the UE for device-to-device communication. The UE may transmit the device-to-device communication based on the transmission configuration.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a vehicle may identify a set of zones of the vehicle, each zone including a number of components connected to a wireless in-vehicle network of the vehicle. A scheduler of the vehicle may associate a different set of frequency resources to each zone of the vehicle and may allocate frequency resources to each component of the vehicle from the set of frequency resources associated with the zone in which the component is located. The scheduler may associate the different sets of frequency resources with the different zones of the vehicle such that two zones that are located at opposite sides or ends of the vehicle may be associated with sets of frequency resources that are spaced in frequency from each other by a maximum frequency spacing.

Abstract: An apparatus for wireless communication of a UE determines to transmit data in a set of RBs to at least one other UE in at least one subframe. The at least one subframe includes a first subset of symbols configured for use for transmission collision avoidance signaling and a second subset of symbols configured for transmitting the data. The apparatus determines a subset of symbols of the first set of symbols within the set of RBs of the at least one subframe for transmitting at least one concatenated sequence. The apparatus transmits the at least one concatenated sequence in each symbol of the determined subset of symbols within the set of RBs of the at least one subframe to indicate that the data will be transmitted in the second set of symbols within the set of RBs of the at least one subframe.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for determining that synchronization for sidelink communication is based on a synchronization source type, and identifying a priority level for a sidelink transmission. The described techniques also include selecting a modified timing error requirement for the sidelink transmission based at least in part on determining that the synchronization source type is the synchronization source for sidelink communications, and the identified priority level, and sending the sidelink transmission using the modified timing error requirement. In some examples, a sidelink device may identify an MCS for sending the sidelink transmission, and may select the modified timing error requirement for the sidelink transmission based on the MCS. In some examples, a sidelink device may identify a required range for a sidelink transmission, and may select the modified timing error required for the sidelink transmission based on the required range.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure are directed to device-to-device (D2D) and, more particularly, vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication in which an efficient ranging protocol allows efficient ranging-assisted vehicle positioning. A vehicle transmits a first slot ID in a first control period, to indicate a first time slot for transmitting a first ranging signal in a ranging cycle including a plurality of time slots. The vehicle transmits the first ranging signal in the first time slot in the ranging cycle. From a second vehicle, the first vehicle receives a second ranging signal in a second time slot that is different from the first time slot in the ranging cycle. The first vehicle determines a first time-of-arrival (ToA) of the second ranging signal when received by the first vehicle, and transmits the first ToA in a second control period.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a message indicating that a base station supports allocating resources for sidelink communications using a first radio access technology (RAT) and a second RAT that is different from the first RAT. The UE may transmit a sidelink information message to the base station using the first RAT that indicates that sidelink communications are to be performed using either the second RAT or both the first RAT and the second RAT. The UE may receive a configuration message from the base station that comprises an identifier for the sidelink communications and an indication of available sidelink resources. The UE may transmit, based at least in part on the configuration message, a request for resources within the available sidelink resources, the request indicating the identifier and a buffer status report (BSR).

Abstract: Techniques described herein provide for enhanced determination of a V2X communication range based on sensor information obtained at a V2X device. According to embodiments, a V2X device can obtain sensor information regarding a detected object and determine a communication range for a V2X message transmitted by the V2X device based on one or more detected properties of the detected object. The V2X message itself may contain information regarding the one or more detected properties of the detected object, as well as information indicative of the location of the V2X device and the determined communication range.
