Abstract: A network router provides Internet connectivity to an intermediate router (e.g., implemented on a computer, smartphone or other device), which in turn provides Internet connectivity to a plurality of devices (e.g., IoT devices). During migration to a new router, the intermediate router may receive an indication that the first wireless router is out of service or no longer exists. Despite that the first wireless router is out of service or no longer exists, the intermediate router keeps each network connection from a plurality of devices to the intermediate router in a manner that is unaffected by the first wireless router being down or no longer existing (other than the plurality of devices experiencing a temporary Internet service interruption). The intermediate router then connects to a second wireless router to replace the first wireless router that is out of service or no longer exists. The intermediate router provides, via the connection to the new second wireless router, Internet connectivity to the plurality of devices connected to the intermediate router without reconnection, reactivation or reconfiguration of the plurality of devices to obtain the Internet connectivity.

Abstract: Systems and methods for efficient processing and presentation of advertisement based on content re-encoding are provided. An example method includes receiving, by a receiving device, the program content stream and determining, by the receiving device, encoding information of the program content stream. The example method also includes determining timing for presenting a target advertisement, responsive to determining the timing for presenting the target advertisement, initiating re-encoding of content of the target advertisement to generate re-encoded advertisement content based on the encoding information, and enabling playback of the re-encoded advertisement content in accordance with the timing for presenting the target advertisement.

Abstract: Novel techniques are described for networked aggregation of distributed localized particulate air pollutant (LPAP) sensors. For example, a large number of sensors is distributed over a geographic region. Each sensor can detect local levels of one or more LPAPs, and can communicate the detected levels over one or more communications networks. A system can receive data samples for the LPAP levels from the sensors and can compute LPAP scores that are mapped to respective sub-regions of the geographic region. The computation can be a function of aggregating respective LPAP levels for at least those LPAP sensors in a particular sub-region of the geographic region, and also as a function of comparing the aggregation against an identified set of trigger thresholds for the LPAP of interest. In some cases, the computed and mapped LPAP scores can be output for display, for example, as a heat map, or the like.

Abstract: Methods, systems, media devices, and non-transitory, machine-readable media to facilitate asynchronous wireless media transfer are disclosed. A request for video service from a content provider system via a wireless network may be received. A media device may be configured to provide an asynchronous session for subsequent video content transfer. The configuring may utilize a network layer and a transport layer without utilizing a presentation layer and an application layer. Specifications of asynchronous session parameters may be created to define delivery operations with the asynchronous session. An encrypted token, corresponding to the specifications, may be created. Opening of the asynchronous session may be requested by transmitting the encrypted token to the content provider system from the transport layer. At the session layer, the asynchronous session may be started for video content delivery in accordance with the specifications of the asynchronous session parameters. Display of the video content may be caused.

Abstract: Conversation support systems and methods are operable to assist a user to more fully participate in an ongoing conversation. An exemplary embodiment receives a conversation map comprising a serially arranged plurality of conversation segments of audio information each associated with one of a plurality of conversation participants, and that includes dialogue of the ongoing conversation being spoken by the associated conversation participant; determining subject matter of a current portion of the ongoing conversation based on the dialogue; selects conversation support information that pertains to the current conversation subject; and generating a conversation queue that includes information that corresponds to the selected conversation support information, wherein the conversation queue is communicated from the conversational support system to at least one conversation queue output device that presents the conversation support information to the user.

Abstract: Embodiments are related to faster provisioning of targeted advertisements at a set-top box (STB) via an Internet Protocol (IP) connection between the STB and a remote server. The disclosed IP-based advertisement distribution system enables targeted advertisements to be pulled from the remote server efficiently, causing the advertisements to be made available within a short time frame (e.g., less than one day from the time when the advertisements are available). The disclosed methods enables a STB to determine whether to retain existing targeted advertisements, discard them, or provision newly-available advertisements. The targeted advertisements can depend on various factors such as demographic information of an owner of the STB, lifestyle information of the owner of the STB, etc.

Abstract: A satellite provider system receives a provider stream including break cue data. The satellite provider system generates adjusted break cue data by adjusting time stamps in the break cue data. The satellite provider system inserts the break cue data, the adjusted break cue data, and break description data into the provider stream in data packets all having a same packet identification. The satellite provider system broadcasts the provider stream from a satellite transponder.

Various artificial intelligence and augmented reality aspects are created and implemented in the system.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described to provide voice search in an elastic cloud environment communicating with a set-top box (STB) by receiving by a voice cloud search server pulse-code modulation (PCM) audio packets transmitted from the STB; sending the PCM audio packets to a natural language processing (NLP) service for converting to text; sending the text sets to an elastic voice cloud search server for querying an electronic program guide (EPG) service, channel and program data associated with the text set wherein the EPG service to at least return identified channel and program data; in response to an identified return of channel and television program data, sending sets of text to a third-party search service for performing an independent search for related data and returning search results of video and image content which is then stripped of dynamic scripts to return to the STB.

Abstract: Systems and methods for notification forwarding may include forwarding all or selected notifications generated by one or more applications running on a wireless mobile device to a television receiving device that is connected to the television. This forwarding may occur over the short-range wireless network or on a home wireless local area network on which the television receiving device is also present. The receiving device may cause the forwarded notifications to be displayed on the television while the television is also displaying other programming received from various other sources. The particular location on the presentation device to display the forwarded notification and the size, color and appearance of the notification may be selected by the user via a graphical user interface of the wireless mobile device and/or the television receiving device.
