Abstract: A pipe coupling includes a rigid cylindrical member, a flexible cylindrical member and a hose clamp. The flexible cylindrical member includes a central tubular member within the rigid cylindrical member. A flexible sleeve extends beyond the rigid cylindrical member and has an inside diameter that is complimentary to a pipe. The sleeve has a first position in which the sleeve is folded back onto the rigid cylindrical member and a second position in which the sleeve is unfolded so as to envelope an end of the first pipe. The central tubular member includes a ledge that has an inside diameter corresponding to an inside diameter of the pipe.

Abstract: Disclosed is an expansion tank having an internal cavity separated by a flexible diaphragm to form an upper pressurized gas portion and a lower pressurized fluid portion, and an indicator positioned at an upper part of the expansion tank in communication with the contents of the upper pressurized gas portion. The indicator is configured so as to display a first color if the operating conditions are normal in the pressurized gas portion, and a second color if the amount of moisture detected in the pressurized gas portion greater than or equal to a predetermined amount. Further disclosed is a method for detecting whether there is an excessive amount of moisture in a pressurized gas portion of an expansion tank by allowing pressurized gas from the pressurized gas portion to come into contact with the indicator, and viewing the color displayed by the indicator. As such, the tank can be simply visually inspected to determine whether there is a potential failure in the tank.

Abstract: A fire sprinkler system according to one aspect of the present disclosure includes a pipe having a first pipe portion and a second pipe portion. The first pipe portion includes a wall having a first wall thickness, and the second pipe portion includes a wall having a second wall thickness that is greater than the first wall thickness. The fire sprinkler system further includes structure coupled to the pipe and defining a sealed chamber between the structure and at least the first pipe portion, and a sensor for sensing a pressure in the sealed chamber. Example corrosion monitoring devices and methods for monitoring corrosion in pipe systems, including fire sprinkler systems, are also disclosed.

Abstract: A venting system includes a vent for expelling gases that accumulate between a metal pipe and a plastic liner disposed within the metal pipe. The vent includes a base portion that is configured to be disposed between the plastic liner and a wall of the metal pipe. The base portion has at least one channel extending along the base portion to a central region of the base portion. The vent includes an exhaust portion that protrudes from the central region of the base portion and is adapted to extend through the wall of the metal pipe. The exhaust portion has a central passage that interconnects with the at least one channel of the base portion, such that the vent is configured to vent gases from an interface area between the plastic liner and the wall of the metal pipe to an exterior atmosphere outside the metal pipe.

Abstract: Cased pipeline network enclosed by casing with the primary purpose of the casing for leakage containment and control. A high number of pipelines are arranged inside and enclosed by an outer casing. The outer casing functions to contain and control leaks and provides a safer means of transporting gas or liquid products across sensitive areas or underwater. The casing flows leaked gas or liquid products to the pipeline network terminals for collection. The pipeline network simplifies and consolidates the permitting and approval process by allowing for the development of a high number of pipelines as a single project. Individual pipelines within the network may be separately managed to carry different gas or liquid products.
