Abstract: A scroll expander includes a driving scroll body having a first axis line a driven scroll body having a second axis line shifted with respect to the first axis line, a bearing plate including two plates coupled to the driven scroll body and having the second axis line a cylindrical driving pin attached to the driving scroll body, and a cylindrical guide ring attached to the bearing plate and having an inner diameter larger than an outer diameter of the driving pin. A hard film including diamond-like carbon is formed on the outer circumferential surface of the driving pin. Abstract: A coating solution that contains 10 to 20% by weight of epoxy resin serving as a thermosetting resin, 20 to 30% by weight of MoS2, and 5 to 10% by weight of graphite, with a remainder thereof constituted by an organic solvent, is sprayed onto a wrap portion side face of an orbiting scroll from a spray nozzle. While spraying the coating solution, the orbiting scroll is rotated on a rotating table and the spray nozzle is moved along a rectilinear movement path toward a radial direction outer side of the orbiting scroll while maintaining an attitude thereof from the start of the spraying process. After applying the coating solution, the coating solution is dried by baking, whereupon a break-in operation is performed. As a result, an elastic coating is formed at a coating thickness that enables elastic deformation in accordance with a clearance between the wrap portion side faces.

Abstract: A seal groove is cut in the distal end face of a wrap of a fixed scroll, with a tip seal being fitted in the seal groove. Swelling members are interposed between both side faces of the tip seal and corresponding opposite side faces of the wrap. Condensed liquid of working medium w and water condensed from steam contained in the working medium w that are present between the tip seal and an end plate provide a sealing effect. When the swelling members swell upon absorbing the condensed liquids, they exert a strong pressing force on the tip seal and the wrap, thereby firmly retaining the tip seal in position. This prevents the tip seal from being pressed against the end plate, so that wear of the tip seal is reduced.

Abstract: Provided is a double rotation type scroll expander, aiming at protecting a bearing that supports drive shaft a drive shaft and the like from the heat of a working medium when a working medium introduction hole is provided in the drive shaft. The working medium introduction hole is drilled into the drive shaft such that the high-temperature, high-pressure working medium is supplied to expansion chambers through the working medium introduction hole.
