Abstract:
A method is provided for extending wireless link coverage in a wireless communication system. The method may include limiting a number of allocable sub-channels to a predetermined value in allocating wireless channels that include sub-channels and symbols, calculating a maximum transmission power per sub-channel based on the limited number of allocable sub-channels, and performing power control based on the calculated maximum transmission power per sub-channel. The calculation of the maximum transmission power per sub-channel may be executed at the base station or the mobile terminal by dividing the transmittable maximum power by the limited number of allocable sub-channels.

A method for searching an access channel and allocating a finger for a base station is disclosed. The method includes a first step for searching an access channel signal, selecting a highest search critical value among the offsets having a search energy above a search critical value, allocating a finger in accordance with a path via which the selected offset signal is received and demodulating the signal, and a second step for checking whether an access channel probe period which corresponds to the time required until an access channel message unit is received and decoded is elapsed, stopping a search of a new multiple signal component to minimize any interference of the deciding operation of an access channel signal of another mobile station when one access channel probe period is not elapsed and feeding back to the first step when the access channel probe period is elapsed, for thereby preventing an interference for an access channel signal between the mobile stations by stopping a signal search operation of a search unit after a search unit of a base station allocates an offset to a finger with respect to an access channel signal of a certain mobile station and preventing a multiple path signal, which may be an access channel signal from a new mobile station during an access channel probe period which corresponds to a duration needed for obtaining one access channel signal by a base station, from being reallocated to a finger.
Abstract:
A bidirectional print position alignment system for automatically aligning bidirectional printing position of a printhead in a serial printer as a function of high sensor accuracy and clock frequency of a CPU controlling the sensor. The alignment system includes a sensing section for sensing a position of a printhead for vertical alignment, a misalignment detecting section for detecting mechanical misalignment of the printhead, and a printing section for correcting said mechanical misalignment of the printhead and printing information on a printable medium after said mechanical misalignment of the printhead is corrected. Since the vertical alignment operation according to the present invention is dependent upon sensor stability and clock accuracy instead of the user's visual confirmation, the accuracy in setting of a print position of the printhead can be realized and the printing quality can be enhanced.
Abstract:
A low-frequency oscillator whose duty ratio can be simply controlled includes a charging and discharging circuit for charging a capacitor via a constant current source and then discharging the capacitor according to a discharge control signal. A voltage comparator compares the voltage across the capacitor with a reference voltage. A monostable multivibrator, triggered by the output of the voltage comparator, generates the discharge control signal. The duration of the discharge is determined according to the RC time constant of the monostable multivibrator, to thereby generate a rectangular waveform having an accurately controlled duty ratio.
Abstract:
An apparatus for preventing cavitation damage to a diesel engine fuel injection pump comprises a valve member mounted on a barrel port to shut the barrel port during an early stage of fuel compression performed by the upward movement of a plunger to increase the pressure in the barrel port, a valve housing installed in the deflector or the barrel of a pump housing to support the valve member, and a pressure control valve constituted by a spring interposed between the valve member and the valve housing to elastically support the valve member. The barrel port is shut to increase the pressure therein during the early stage of fuel compression, and when the pressure of fuel in the barrel port exceeds a level higher than an open level, the barrel port opens to discharge fuel.
