A video generating device (control part) (9) decides, in a frame in which a gray-scale transition occurs, at least a length of either an OFF period of the light-emitting diode in a first half of the frame or an ON period of the light-emitting diode in a latter half of the frame, based on the time information from the time information generating part (26), and outputs an instruction signal to a light source driving part (14) in accordance with the decided OFF or ON period for driving the light-emitting diode.

New data is additionally recorded in the unit data from a predetermined position within the data body portion so that a beginning portion of the new data is additionally recorded in a leading additional recording area extending from the additional recording start position to an end position within a data unit including the additional recording start position. A subsequent portion of the new data is recorded in a physical storage area on the storage medium. The management information portion is updated according to the additionally recorded new data and recorded in the storage medium. The resulting unit data includes a new data body portion starting from the beginning of the previous data body portion and ending in the end of the new data, and the updated managing information portion.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a recording control apparatus and a recording control method which can improve the convenience of a storage medium and also to a program and a storage medium. Image annulus data or audio annulus data having a first data amount in accordance with a data amount required for reproduction for first reproduction time and low-resolution annulus data or frame-meta annulus data having a second data amount in accordance with a data amount required for reproduction for a second reproduction time that is different from the first reproduction time are recorded on an optical disk so that the data are periodically arranged. The image annulus data or the audio annulus data is extracted from a data series of corresponding video data or audio data. The low-resolution annulus data or the frame-meta annulus data is extracted from a data series of low-resolution that is video data having a less data amount or a series of frame metadata. Clip metadata generated in accordance with the frame metadata is recorded at random independently of those data. The present invention is applicable to a disk drive apparatus.

    摘要: An object of at least one embodiment of the present invention is to provide a liquid crystal display device and a driving method thereof, in which a contour of an image is clearly recognized during movie display even in a case where a backlight is turned on and off so as to change intervals at which the backlight turns on. In at least one embodiment, the liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal panel and the backlight that irradiates the liquid crystal panel with light, one frame period including a turn-on period during which the backlight turns on and a turn-off period during which the backlight turns off, luminance being changed by changing turn-on intervals of the backlight, the turn-on intervals of the backlight being changed by changing lengths of the turn-on period and the turn-off period. The liquid crystal display device further includes an OS process circuit for controlling a drive voltage to be applied to the liquid crystal panel by setting an amplitude of the drive voltage to be applied to the liquid crystal panel during a gray scale transition. The OS process circuit sets the amplitude of the drive voltage to be applied to the liquid crystal panel during the gray scale transition so as to be greater as the turn-on period of the backlight is longer under a condition where gray scales that have not been subjected to a gray scale transition is equal to gray scales that have been subjected to the gray scale transition in a case where the turn-on period of the backlight varies.
