Abstract: A tape measure is disclosed which has a spooled measuring blade mounted via a rotatable connection within a casing (100). The tape measure has impact-protection components. These components may be resilient means (46, 60, 62, 82, 108) arranged between the spooled blade and the case, such as at the rotatable connection. Further impact-protection components are resilient pads (112, 114) which are moulded into impact-vulnerable locations on the outer surface of the case.

Abstract: Data transmission systems and methods are disclosed in which a transmitter and a receiver, each having an inductor, are configured for wirelessly transferring data and power between them. Error detection is implemented for implementing error correction techniques by making corrections at the receiver, at the transmitter, or both. In preferred embodiments of the invention, error correction approaches include oversampling, power adjustments, and frequency adjustments. In preferred implementations, the systems and methods are used for transmitting both power and data using a single pair of inductors.

Abstract: A resonant circuit dynamic optimization system is described herein that can exhibit improved system charging functionality, can have multi-input charging functionality, and can improve the efficiency and speed of charging electronic devices. The resonant circuit dynamic optimization system can comprise at least one antenna configured to receive or transmit an electromagnetic signal, at least one variable component, and at least one dynamic adjustment circuit. The dynamic adjustment circuit can adjust the variable component to thereby modify the power transfer efficiency of the electromagnetic signal.

Abstract: Methods and systems for driving a motor are disclosed. A center tap voltage and a desired center tap voltage are used to generate a voltage feedback. A power amplifier receives a reference current and the voltage feedback. The power amplifier provides a phase current to a phase of a motor. The phase current is substantially centered about the desired center tap voltage as a consequence of the voltage feedback. Thus, high-side to low-side or state to state current variations are reduced thereby reducing the occurrence of problems such as torque ripple and back EMF.
