Abstract:
A hearing aid includes a magnetostrictive electroactive (ME) sensor that generates an electrical signal in response to a magnetic field or a mechanical pressure. In various embodiments, the ME sensor is used for cordless charging of a rechargeable battery in the hearing aid by generating an electrical signal in response to a magnetic field generated for power transfer, magnetic sound signal reception, and/or detection of user commands by sensing a magnetic field or a pressure applied to the hearing aid.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to derivatives of α,α-disubstituted amide compounds which comprise a substituted aryl at the α carbon such that the substituent provides a means for attachment or incorporation of the compound to or in a polymer. The provision of such a substituent on the aryl has surprisingly been found not only to permit attachment to or incorporation in a polymer but also retention of useful antifouling activity. In embodiments, the substituent is selected from hydroxyl, ethers, es ters, carboxyls, alkylsilyls and alkenyls. Experiments demonstrate that antifouling activity can be as good or better as the corresponding unsubstituted compound and that polymers functionalised so as to include or be formed from the substituted compound can be used to reduce settlement.
Abstract:
A roll shaft structure is provided for fixing a first roll or a second roll. The roll shaft structure includes a shaft body, a first ring and a second ring. The diameter of the shaft body is equal to the inner diameter of the first roll. The diameter of each of the first ring and the second ring is equal to the inner diameter of the second roll. When the shaft body penetrates through the first roll, the shaft body is contacted with the inner wall of the first roll, so that the first roll is fixed on the roll shaft structure. Whereas, when the shaft body penetrates through the second roll, the first ring and the second ring that are fixed on the shaft body are contacted with the inner wall of the second roll, so that the second roll is fixed on the roll shaft structure.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein, among other things, are apparatus and methods to provide improved connections for components of hearing assistance devices. Various embodiments include an apparatus including a receiver case configured to house a hearing assistance device receiver, the receiver case including a spherical receiver spout having an opening. The apparatus also includes a receptacle housing having a spherical socket adapted to mate with the spherical receiver spout to form a ball and socket connection. An insert within the spherical socket is configured to establish a retained interference fit with the opening of the receiver spout when the connection is formed so as to create an acoustic seal therebetween.
Abstract:
The present disclosure describes self-biasing radio frequency circuitry. In some aspects a radio frequency (RF) signal is amplified via a circuit having a first transistor configured to source current to an output of the circuit and a second transistor configured to sink current from the output of the circuit, and another signal is provided, without active circuitry, from the output of the circuit to a gate of the first transistor effective to bias a voltage at the output of the circuit. By so doing, the output of the circuit can be biased without active circuitry which can reduce design complexity of and substrate area consumed by the circuit.

A series of novel phosphorus-containing compounds having the following formula are disclosed: wherein R1-R12, A, B, D, X, and Y are as defined in the specification. A process for the preparation of the compound of formula (1), a curing agent, and a flame resistant epoxy resin and a preparation process thereof are also provided.
Abstract:
An optical device capable of emitting polarized light includes a light emitting means, two multi-layer optical films disposed above and below the light emitting means and two metal layers. The two metal layers cover the two multi-layer optical layers from the upper and lower sides respectively. Each of the two multi-layer optical films includes at least two films made from materials of different refractive indexes that are stacked in a staggered manner. The optical film formed by the multi-layer optical films and metal layers provides greater reflectance to S-polarized light (TE) and higher absorption to P-polarized light. Light generated by the light emitting means emits diagonally to the optical films and is reflected several times thereof to form S-polarized light (TE) to emit sideward.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a low power consumption desorption apparatus, which utilizes a pair of electrodes coupled to an absorbing material to provide an electric current flowing through the absorbing material so as to desorb the substances absorbed within the absorbing material. By means of the desorption apparatus of the present invention, the absorbing material is able to enhance the desorbing efficiency and reducing power consumption during desorption. The present invention further provides a dehumidifier using the low power consumption desorption apparatus for providing a continuous dry air flow to desorb and regenerate the moisture from the absorbing material so that the dehumidifier is capable of removing moisture in the air repeatedly to reduce the humidity.
Abstract:
An inductor device includes a coil, two conductive bases and a shell. The coil is located over and coupled with the two conductive bases. The shell covers the coil and exposes partial conductor bases. The shell is made by an alloy material consisting of Fe, Cr, Si, Mn, S, C, P and Al. The weight ratio of Cr is 10.5%˜13.5%, Si is 0.1%˜0.5%, Mn is 0.1%˜1.0%, S is 0.01%˜0.053%, C is 0.01%˜0.05%, P is 0.01%˜0.05% and Al is 0.1%˜1.0%.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus of operating a primary-side-regulation power converter at both continuous current mode and discontinuous current mode are provided. The apparatus includes a switching circuit, a signal generator, a correlation circuit, and a feedback modulator. The signal generator generates a half signal and a second sampling pulse in response to a switching signal. The correlation circuit receives the half signal, the second sampling pulse and a switching-current signal for generating a modulating current. The feedback modulator modulates a feedback signal in response to the modulating current, a detection signal and the switching signal. The detection signal obtained from a transformer is correlated to an output voltage of the primary-side-regulation power converter. An on-period of the half signal is half of an on-period of the switching signal. The switching-current signal is sampled at a falling-edge of the half signal.
