    摘要: A biosensor has an abnormal output detection system that determines whether an output signal from the redox reaction of an analyte has a normal or abnormal shape or configuration. The abnormal output detection system improves the accuracy and precision of the biosensor in determining whether an output signal has a shape or configuration that may not provide an accurate and/or precise analysis of a biological fluid. The biosensor generates an output signal in response to the redox reaction of the analyte. The biosensor normalizes the output signal and compares the normalized output signal with one or more control limits. The biosensor may generate an error signal when the normalized output signal is not within the control limits.

    摘要: A coupler for coupling a light source to a fiber optic, comprising an adapter having a cavity for receiving the fiber optic, said adapter including pins extending in a direction perpendicular to the fiber optic's axis; a coupler body having an aperture for receiving the adapter, said aperture including a pair of through slots for receiving the pins, said body including interior pin sockets radially offset from the slots; a plate mounted within the coupler body; and biasing means urging said plate towards the aperture in the coupling body wherein when the adapter is inserted into the aperture of the coupler body, the adapter initially urges the plate in a direction away from the aperture, whereupon the adapter is rotated until the pins become aligned with and captured within the pin sockets allowing the plate to be urged in a direction back towards the aperture locking the coupler in place.

A second circular lighting array is mounted on the first circular lighting array. The second circular lighting array has a second plurality of reflectors and light emitting diodes. Each reflector includes a tulip-shaped reflective surface having a symmetrical vertical cross section and a different symmetrical horizontal cross section. The reflective surface creates a uniform beam reflecting from a corresponding LED at horizontal angles relative to the reflective surface and a narrow beam in vertical angles relative to the reflective surface.

    摘要: An in vitro method of determining an analyte concentration of a sample includes placing the sample into a low-field, bench-top time-domain nuclear magnetic resonance (TD-NMR) spectrometer. The NMR spectrometer is tuned to measure a selected type of atom. A magnetic field is applied to the sample using a fixed, permanent magnet. At least one 90 degree radio-frequency pulse is applied to the sample. The radio-frequency pulse is generally perpendicular to the magnetic field. The 90 degree radio-frequency pulse is removed from the sample so as to produce a decaying NMR signal. The decaying NMR signal is measured at a plurality of times while applying a plurality of 180 degree refocusing radio-frequency pulses to the sample. The analyte concentration is calculated from the plurality of measurements associated with the decaying NMR signal and a selected model.
