Abstract: Devices, systems and methods for transitioning a UE to a new application server in response to a mobility event comprising, at a source application server handler: receiving an application ID (AC-ID) associated with an application client for a user equipment (UE); receiving a mobility event notification including a UE ID of the UE and a target data network access identifier (DNAI) to indicate a target edge data network to which a transition of a data connection for the application client is to be performed; encoding an outgoing transition request for transmission to a source application server to indicate the transition of the data connection from the source application server; and encoding an incoming transition request for transmission to a target application server handler (ASH) of the target edge data network to indicate the transition of the data connection to the target edge data network.

Abstract: Relay service is enabled between a residential gateway and a remote user. For example, a 5G residential gateway (5G-RG) may include a relay user equipment (UE) to enable relay service for a 5G core (5GC)-capable UE behind the 5G-RG to connect to the 5GC. The relay UE of the 5G-RG may provide a trusted/untrusted non-3GPP access network for L2 or L3 transport connection to the 5GC-capable UE.

Abstract: Described is a Logical Network Controller (LNC) operable to communicate with a User Equipment (UE) on a wireless network. The LNC may be operable to process connection request transmissions from the UE requesting a connection with an application service, such as a Mission-Critical Internet-of-Things (MC-IoT) service, to determine a Connection-specific Application Server Instance (CASI) for the application service, and to generate connection response transmissions for the UE carrying a connection-specific source IP address corresponding to the UE and a connection-specific destination IP address corresponding to the CASI. The UE may be operable to generate connection request transmissions for the LNC requesting a connection with an application service, to process connection response transmissions from the LNC carrying a connection-specific destination IP address corresponding to a CASI for the application service, and to generate connection-specific transmissions for the CASI, the connection-specific transmissions carrying the connection-specific destination IP address.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for efficient group-based handling of massive internet of things (M-IoT) devices that are compatible with both current cellular networks, and next generation 5G systems. Examples allow reduced overhead between a (radio) access network (R)AN and a core network (CN) that originates from unnecessary signaling traffic for IoT devices transitioning from IDLE to CONNECTED mode, especially when sending small data packets. In addition, or in other embodiments, mobility solutions are provided for group based M-IoT.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for pervasive connectivity for group based service (GBS) provisioning. In addition, or in other embodiments, groupcast services provisioning in 5G systems is described. An example apparatus for GBS provisioning for pervasive connectivity in a mobile network includes a memory interface and a processor. The memory interface to send or receive, to or from a memory device, an application identifier (ID) value, and a temporary group based service ID (TGSID) value. The processor to process a service request from an access and mobility management function (AMF). The service request includes the application ID value and the TGSID value associated with a groupcast service. In response to the service request, the processor enables groupcast service at one or more associated access stratum network entities for forwarding groupcast internet protocol (IP) packets.

Abstract: In one embodiment, an apparatus of a User Equipment (UE) device includes memory storing non-public network (NPN) configuration information, a radio frequency (RF) interface, and processing circuitry coupled to the memory and the RF interface. The RF interface receives information broadcast by a radio access network (RAN) node of the particular NPN, where the information includes a NPN indicator indicating that the RAN node supports a NPN and NPN service information indicating services supported by the particular NPN. The processing circuitry establishes, in response to detecting the NPN indicator in the information received from the RAN node, a connection to the particular NPN based on the NPN configuration information and the NPN service information received from the RAN node.
