Abstract: The invention comprises organo silicon compounds of the formula and a method of preparing the above compounds by reacting one or more chlorophenyl-trimethylsilanes and a compound of the formula Cl(CH3)2SiCH2Si(CH3)2Cl with metallic sodium. In the example, the above compounds are prepared by reacting a mixture of the o, m and p isomers of chlorophenyltrimethylsilane with Cl(CH3)2SiCH2Si(CH3)2Cl in the presence of sodium. The latter compound is prepared by reacting a methyl Grignard reagent and a compound Cl3SiCH2SiCl3.
