Abstract:
The present invention is directed to stabilized non-sour dairy base materials which may be used as a heavy cream substitute or other culinary purposes in food products.
Abstract:
A dual phase pulse modulation (DPPM) decoder circuit processes a DPPM signal, which is in the form of a series of high and low pulses whose pulse widths represent successive groups of M data bits, so as to recover data carried by the signal. Each of the 2M possible data values of an M-bit group corresponds to one of 2M distinct pulse widths. Circuit blocks determine the width of each pulse by piping the DPPM signal through a short delay chain and using the delayed outputs to clock flip-flop registers to sample the non-delayed signal. The registered output is interpreted by logic gates to obtain the corresponding M-bit groups. The decoder circuit may have two substantially identical pulse width determining blocks, one receiving the DPPM signal for measuring high pulses, and the other receiving an inverted DPPM signal for measuring the low pulses.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a multilayer silicone release surface comprising a backing, a support layer on the backing, and a silicone layer of the support layer. The various layers of the multilayer release surface are deposited substantially simultaneously, as for example by a dual die or using curtain coating techniques.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a device for the application (1) of at least one cable onto a rotating receiving surface (2) revolving at a speed V2, comprising means (10) for feeding the cable that comprise at least one capstan (11) revolving at a speed V1, means (20, 30) to displace the cable transversely relative to the receiving surface (2) and means (40) to position the cable on said receiving surface, characterized in that the means (20, 30) to displace the cable transversely effect said displacement by the combination of a rotary movement about an axis perpendicular to the cable travel direction with a pivoting movement in a plane containing the axis of said rotation, the extent of pivoting being determined by the ratio between the speeds V1 and V2.
Abstract:
Inorganic-organic hybrid gels can be employed to extract chemical species such as lanthanides and actinides and their preparation. The gels include a network of inorganic components with the formula: where M is Si, Ti, Zr or Al, wherein organic molecules which can complex the species to be extracted are integrated, with each organic molecule being covalently linked to one or several M atoms in the network. The network is made by a sol-gel process from metallic alkoxides functionalized with complexing groups (amino, ether, hydroxy, amido, pyridino and bipyridino), capable of extracting metals such as lanthanides and actinides.
Abstract:
A method for simultaneously coating multiple thin layers of relatively viscous fluids comprises the relative adjustment of the viscosity of the fluids in order to achieve a viscosity ratio in the optimum range without adversely affecting the adhesive properties of the fluids. In the preferrred method, viscosity is adjusted by varying the temperature of one or both fluids prior to coating and/or by reformulating the liquids to vary their relative viscosities.
Abstract:
A wall plate is used for both a receptacle for a remote conventional telephone and for mounting a wall telephone by either detaching or attaching a pair of mounting posts. The wall plate is fastened to a support, such as a wall, and has a communication receptacle or jack located therein. A pair of plugs cover a pair of spaced-apart apertures in the wall plate when the wall plate is used with remote conventional telephones. To mount a wall telephone on the wall plate, the plugs are removed and detachable mounting posts are placed through the apertures and secured to a backing frame. The wall phone is mounted on the mounting posts and connected to the jack.
Abstract:
Device for measuring the rheological properties of a viscoelastic material, formed of an upper rotating plate (10) and of a lower rotating plate (20) which are able to press against the opposite faces of a sample S of the material to be measured. The axes of rotation (a1a1′ and a2 a2′) of said plates are arranged parallel to one another in a direction perpendicular to the plane formed by the plates, and offset from one another by a distance d. Two independent motors (12, 22) drive respectively the upper plate (10) and the lower plate (20) at the same speed of rotation ω, without giving rise to any angular displacement between the two plates.
Abstract:
A steam injection manifold assembly is mounted to a crop pick-up assembly and is provided with an elongate manifold disposed lengthwise of the pick-up assembly. A plurality of steam injection tubes are releasably mounted to the manifold to receive steam exiting through respective steam outlet openings provided in the manifold. In one embodiment the injection tubes are shaped similarly to tine stripper bands of the pick-up, and in another embodiment the injection tubes define the stripper bands of the pick-up.
Abstract:
A reinforcement strip is laid on a rotating receiving surface during the manufacture of a tire. The strip passes through a guide which is moved alternatingly transversely relative to a travel path of the strip, whereby the strip is laid in an undulating pattern on the receiving surface. The amplitude of the alternating transverse movement is varied as a function of a ratio of: (a) the speed of a portion of the strip approaching the guide, and (b) the speed of the receiving surface. Between the guide and the receiving surface the strip is pivoted by 90 degrees about the strip's longitudinal axis so as to be laid tangentially on the receiving surface.
