Abstract:
An improved system and method (i.e. utility) for registration of medical images is provided. The utility registers a previously obtained volume (s) onto an ultrasound volume during an ultrasound procedure to produce a multimodal image. The multimodal image may be used to guide a medical procedure. In one arrangement, the multimodal image includes MRI information presented in the framework of a TRUS image during a TRUS procedure.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for determining a real-time performance model of systems that process multi-class workloads. The methods can include collecting measurement data, selecting a series of prior time windows, processing the measurement data to compute a set of constraints based on the measurement data from the series of prior time windows, augmenting the set of constraints to a measurement model to obtain an augmented measurement model and running a modified extended Kalman filter with the augmented measurement model to obtain a state estimate.
Abstract:
A network controller with a bootable Host Bus Adapter, particularly suitable for iSCSI applications is described. In one example, this includes, a host bus interface, a register to the host bus indicating a mass storage device, a network interface, and a boot memory extension including a driver for the mass storage device that binds to a BIOS.
Abstract:
A stabilized pharmaceutical composition of anticancer drug and a solvent like Polyethoxylated castor oil (cremophor) also containing any other suitable solubilizer suitable for human administration like dehydrated alcohol, is disclosed. Compositions prepared using this purified polyethoxylated castor oil enhance the stability of paclitaxel in such compositions.
Abstract:
A method for modeling performance of an information technology system having one or more servers for serving a number of types of transactions includes modeling a service time of each transaction type at each server and a processor overhead at each server as one of a polynomial, exponential, or logarithmic function of the average arrival rate of each transaction type at the corresponding server to generate service time and processor overhead functions and inferring optimal values of coefficients in the service time and processor overhead functions to generate a performance model of the information technology system.
Abstract:
Provided herein are improved biopsy systems and methods (i.e., utilities), which among other benefits, assist physicians with the selection biopsy sites based on temporally distinct images. More generally, the utilities allow for registering medical images such that information associated with a medical image obtained at a first time may be mapped to a subsequent medical image obtained at a subsequent time. This may result in improved diagnosis, better planning, better treatment delivery and/or follow-up.
Abstract:
Technology for evaluating an IT enterprise is provided. The technology models all information technology or solutions as services which are provided to a business organization. Each service can itself consume and be consumed by other services. Using a defined model service portfolio, the business goals of an organization are mapped against the portfolio to derive a services portfolio for a given business. Real world constraints such as budgeting and existing technology are then applied against the developed portfolio to derive a service plan.
Abstract:
A pharmaceutical composition comprising a platinum (II) complex compound in n aqueous solvent. The pharmaceutical composition is prepared by the essential steps of: (i) adding a platinum (II) complex compound to an oxygen enriched aqueous solvent to obtain a solution; (ii) Sterilizing the solution (iii) Filling the sterilizedsolution of step (ii) into suitable containers; and (iv) Sealing the containers. The oxygen enriched aqueous solvent is obtained by purging or bubbling of a gas into an aqueous solvent for 30 to 150 minutes. A device for preparing the pharmaceutical composition is illustrated in FIG. 1. The composition is used for treatment of a human or an animal cancerous disease by the administration of pharmaceutical compositions of platinum (II) complex compounds as per the claim 1, to the human or animal in need of said treatment.
Abstract:
A plurality of packets associated with a plurality of protocols are received, wherein the plurality of packets are to be processed by a plurality of processors. Packets associated with a first protocol are sent to be processed by at least one of the plurality of processors before sending packets associated with a second protocol to be processed, in response to determining that the packets associated with the first protocol have a higher priority for processing than the packets associated with the first protocol.
Abstract:
A method for designing a multi-threaded processing operation that includes, e.g., multimedia encoding/decoding, uses an architecture having multiple processors and optional hardware accelerators. The method includes the steps of: identifying a desired chronological sequence of processing stages for processing input data including identifying interdependencies of said processing stages; allotting each said processing sage to a processor; staggering the processing to accommodate the interdependencies; selecting a processing operation based on said allotting to arrive at a subset of possible pipelines that offer low average processing time; and, choosing one design pipeline from said subset to result in overall timing reduction to complete said processing operation. The invention provides a multi-threaded processing pipeline that is applicable in a System-on-Chip (SoC) using a DSP and shared resources such as DMA controller and on-chip memory, for increasing the throughput. The invention also provides an article which is programmed to execute the method.
