摘要: Systems and methods for establishing a communications channel between a first user and a second user through a first communications system make use of contact information obtained from a second communications system. The contact information obtained from the second communications system is stored in a cross-reference database maintained on the first communications system. The information could be obtained by having the first communications system access the second communications system using the credentials of a user of the second communications system to obtain contact information stored on the second communications system for the user. The information in the cross-reference database allows the first communications system to determine a non-publically switched telephony network (PSTN) identifier of a telephony device associated with the second user. This identifier is then used to establish a communications channel between the first user and the second user.

摘要: The application relates to a stimulation device with power conservation functionality. In implantable devices, power supplies may be limited. Replenishing these power supplies may require costly surgery or periodic recharging depending on the model. A method may be implemented that skips or drops periodic pulses without apparently changing the frequency of the pulses. In this manner, the dropped pulses may be undetected by the patient. On the other hand, the dropped pulse represents power savings. Dropping one in ten pulses may lead to a 10% energy savings. The stimulation device may implement the method with one or more counters implemented in hardware or software.

摘要: The invention provides compositions and methods that are useful for preventing and treating a coronavirus infection in a subject. More specifically, the invention provides peptides and conjugates and pharmaceutical compositions containing those peptides and conjugates that block fusion of a coronavirus, such as the SARS virus, to a target cell. This blocking mechanism prevents or treats a coronavirus infection, such as a SARS infaction, in a subject, such as a human subject.

摘要: An electronic stimulation system is used to control pain over multiple regions of a patient's body. The system has one or more percutaneous leads, each having multiple electrodes, implanted within the patient's epidural space parallel to the axis of the spinal cord. The leads are connected to either a totally implanted system or a radio frequency system. The system is able to treat pain over different regions of a patient's body by “simultaneously” stimulating the patient with at least three different stimulation settings. “Simultaneous” stimulation involves sequentially stimulating the patient with the multiple stimulation settings such that the patient receives the cumulative effect of each stimulation setting, while not perceiving the transition from one stimulation setting to another.

摘要: An elastomeric urethane composition includes the reaction product of a resin composition, including a polyol, and an isocyanate. The resin composition and the isocyanate are reacted, in the presence of a first and a second catalyst, to form a polyurethane elastomer. The first catalyst includes a metal selected from the group of iron, titanium, zirconium and hafnium. The second catalyst includes an amine. The elastomeric urethane composition may be used in a method of making an article. The method includes reacting the resin composition and the isocyanate to form the elastomeric urethane composition, applying the elastomeric urethane composition to a mold cavity, and allowing the elastomeric urethane composition to cure to form a first layer. The method also includes applying a urethane composition, different from the elastomeric urethane composition, to the mold to form a second layer, curing the article in the mold, and de-molding the article from the mold.
