摘要:
Method and system for discovering and identifying a video object. The method includes crawling at least one predetermined website, discovering at least one video link at the predetermined website, processing information associated with a first database for storing one or more video links, and determining whether the discovered video link was already discovered before based on at least information associated with the first database. Additionally, the method includes, if the discovered video link is determined not to have been discovered before, updating the first database based on at least information associated with the discovered video link, downloading at least one video object based on at least information associated with the discovered video link, and processing information associated with the downloaded video object.

Hardware and software configurations, optionally, for performing profilometry of an object are disclosed. An advantageous imaging device is described. An advantageous approach to determining imager position is also described. Each aspect described may be used independently of the other. Moreover, the teaching may find use in other fields including velocimetry, etc.

A method and device for high-resolution three-dimensional (3-D) imaging which obtains camera pose using defocusing is disclosed. The device comprises a lens obstructed by a mask having two sets of apertures. The first set of apertures produces a plurality of defocused images of the object, which are used to obtain camera pose. The second set of optical filters produces a plurality of defocused images of a projected pattern of markers on the object. The images produced by the second set of apertures are differentiable from the images used to determine pose, and are used to construct a detailed 3-D image of the object. Using the known change in camera pose between captured images, the 3-D images produced can be overlaid to produce a high-resolution 3-D image of the object.

This disclosure relates to temperature-responsive co-polymers, such as poly(N-isopropylacrylamide-co-hydroxypropyl methacrylate-co-3-trimethoxysilypropyl methacrylate). The disclosure also relates to polymeric films formed from these co-polymers and particular applications of these polymeric films, particularly in the cell culture field. More specifically, the present disclosure relates to the use of these polymeric films in the cell culture field to provide a means of controlling cellular adhesion to, and detachment from, the surface of a cell culture support substrate.

Chimeric polynucleotides comprising a nucleotide sequence encoding a chloroplast transit peptide operably linked to a heterologous polynucleotide of interest are provided, wherein the chloroplast transit peptide comprises an amino acid sequence having the chloroplast transit peptide sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO:1 or a biologically active variant or fragment thereof or wherein the chloroplast transit peptide comprises the sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO: 58 or an active variant or fragment thereof. Chimeric polypeptides encoding the same, as well as, cells, plant cells, plants and seeds are further provided which comprise the chimeric polynucleotides. Compositions further include HPPD polypeptides and polynucleotides encoding the same as set forth in SEQ ID NOS: 57 and 60 or active variants and fragments thereof. Such sequences comprise the chloroplast transit peptide as set forth in SEQ ID NO: 58 or an active variants or fragments thereof. Cells, plant cells, plants and seeds are further provided which comprise such sequences. Methods of use of the various sequences are also provided.

A method for increasing diffusibility of metallic surfaces and its applications in surface treatment of metallic implants, which combines a mechanic means and a chemical means, whereby the mechanic means increases the diffusibility of the surface while the chemical means forms a chemically modified surface layer for improved properties suitable for particular application of the metallic materials, especially in the bio-medical areas. This surface treatment can increase the hardness and corrosion resistance of stainless steel and reduces Ni release from implants made from NiTi wires.

An optical fiber 200 with a high thermal resistance fiber Bragg grating (FBG) 130. Compared to existing FBG's, the invention provides greatly enhanced thermal stability, being stable up to 1200° C. The grating reflectivity and resonant wavelength are maintained for extended duration at high temperatures. The FBG is thus suitable in high temperature sensors. The high thermal resistance of the FBG is obtained in a method of pre-annealing the optical fiber 105 at high temperature prior to inscribing the FBG. The high thermal resistance is optionally enhanced in a post-FBG creation step of heat treating the optical fiber 105 and FBG.
