Abstract: This disclosure details exemplary portable power systems for vehicles. The portable power systems may be configured as a secondary battery pack that is removably stored within a front trunk of a vehicle. The portable power systems may include a plurality of individually removable battery units that can be used to extend vehicle driving range or power electrically powered devices that are separate from the vehicle. In some embodiments, when the portable power system is stored in the vehicle and an electrically powered device is connected to the portable power system, the vehicle may be controlled in a Following Mode in which the vehicle is autonomously moved to follow an operator of the electrically powered device.

In exemplary embodiments, a wiper blade of a wiper may include a beam blade portion, a tip portion, and a heater element. Each of the beam blade portion, the tip portion, and the heater element may include a different material composition. The material composition of the heater element, for example, may include a thermally conductive polymer. The temperature of the blade may be regulated by adjusting a current flow through the thermally conductive polymer heater element.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for preparing electrified vehicles to transfer energy to other structures. Weather related data and/or grid related data may be leveraged for predicting the likelihood of power outage conditions of a grid power source. When power outage conditions are predicted as being likely, the electrified vehicle may automatically enter a readiness state for transferring power to the structure without any time delays once an actual power outage condition occurs. Entering the readiness state may include steps such as waking up the electrified vehicle, initiating communications with electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE), completing vehicle pre-checks, precharging certain power transfer system components, etc.
