Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for coordinating and providing bidirectional energy transfer events between electrified vehicles and households or other structures, such as for supporting household loads associated with the structures during power outage conditions. In some implementations, available energy may be rationed from the vehicle to the structure based on a power outage restoration estimate. Rather than supporting household loads with constant energy during power outage conditions, the disclosed systems/methods may provide strategic rationing of bidirectional energy transfer in order to extend appliance operation for the duration of power outage conditions.

Abstract: Systems and methods are proposed for coordinating and providing assistive traction drive forces during towing events between a motor vehicle and one or more charging trailers. The assistive traction drive forces may be provided in the form of a propulsive torque applied by an electric machine of the charging trailer. Electrical energy for powering the electric machine may be supplied by a powertrain system of the towing vehicle or an energy storage device of an electrified recreational/industrial vehicle that is operably connected to the charging trailer. Energy expended by the energy storage device for powering the electric machine may be replenished during the towing event by regenerative braking.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for routing one or more electrified vehicles in a manner that improves battery life. The proposed systems and methods may utilize a multi-objective approach to route planning. The multi-objective approach may account for factors such as time, energy consumption, and battery life. Origin-destination matrices may be leveraged for providing the multi-objective route planning approaches.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for coordinating and controlling power flow during bidirectional energy transfer events between an electrified vehicle and one or more charging trailers. The systems and methods may prioritize energy transfers between each connected energy unit based on various parameters, including but not limited to battery prognostic information, driving habits/predicted behavior, user preferences, etc. Charge energy may be transferred to the appropriate energy unit using a semi-automated approach to meet customer needs with varying levels of priority according to an energy transfer prioritization control strategy that is derived from the various inputs that are considered.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for preparing electrified vehicles to transfer energy to other structures. Weather related data and/or grid related data may be leveraged for predicting the likelihood of power outage conditions of a grid power source. When power outage conditions are predicted as being likely, the electrified vehicle may automatically enter a readiness state for transferring power to the structure without any time delays once an actual power outage condition occurs. Entering the readiness state may include steps such as waking up the electrified vehicle, initiating communications with electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE), completing vehicle pre-checks, precharging certain power transfer system components, etc.

Abstract: A fleet charging method and system include a plurality of chargers and a controller programmed to predict charge demand for fleet vehicles over a predetermined time interval and generate a charging strategy for the predetermined time interval including selecting at least one of a plurality of power sources for the plurality of chargers from at least a utility grid and a subset of fleet vehicles having stored charge capacity exceeding an associated threshold in response to: a predicted power factor of the utility grid during the predetermined time interval; meeting the predicted charge demand for the fleet vehicles; and minimizing a total energy expense for meeting the predicted charge demand.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for coordinating and controlling power flow during bidirectional energy transfer events between an electrified vehicle and one or more charging trailers. The systems and methods may prioritize energy transfers between each connected energy based on a charge priority selection that may be manually input by a user of the system. Charge energy may be transferred to the appropriate energy unit using such a manual approach to meet customer needs with varying levels of priority according to an energy transfer prioritization control strategy that is derived from various inputs that are considered.

Abstract: Charging cord assemblies for transferring power between electrified vehicles during in-flight bidirectional energy transfer events may include a cable including a wire bundle coated with a conductive foamed plastic shielding to establish a cable subassembly. The conductive foamed plastic shielding is configured to reduce electromagnetic interference (EMI) of the cable. Various cable routing arrangements may be utilized for routing the cable of the charging cord assembly during the in-flight bidirectional energy transfer events.

Abstract: A method for controlling an HVAC system of a building by a vehicle system associated with a vehicle includes identifying an occupant of the vehicle by the vehicle system, detecting whether a destination of the vehicle having the occupant is the building, obtaining a desired HVAC setting associated with the occupant in response to the destination being the building, defining an HVAC setting for the HVAC system of the building based on the desired HVAC setting associated with the occupant of the vehicle and a HVAC-occupant control algorithm, and transmitting, by the vehicle system, an HVAC building message to an HVAC system of the building to control the HVAC system of the building. The HVAC message includes the HVAC setting for the HVAC system of the building.
