摘要: A data collecting apparatus is used in a survey system in which research data such as television audience ratings and market research data is collected by a data collecting device provided in each of a plurality of panelists' homes, the collected research data is sent to a data center through telephone links, and, at the data center, the data is processed with the aid of a large scale computer to calculate desired research data. The data collecting apparatus includes a channel detector for detecting a television channel being viewed, a market research data entry device, a personal data entry device, and a data processing device for storing and processing the entered data. The detected channel data and the entered personal data are transferred to the data processing device via domestic power supply lines. The market research data is efficiently entered with the aid of a bar-code reader and a keyboard in a sequence-non-ordered manner. The personal data is entered with an entry device using infrared light. The personal data entry device may have picture-like illustration images of respective panelists so that they need not remember personal identification numbers.

摘要: Immunoassay which can be performed within a short period of time and a reagent composition for such immunoassay. The reagent composition contains complement and cells which contain quantitatively determinable substance therein. Antibody or antigen corresponding to antigen or antibody to be determined in a sample is bound on the outer surfaces of the cell membranes, which can be lysed by the complement upon activation thereof. In the immunoassay, a sample containing antigen or antibody to be determined is mixed with the reagent composition. The complement is activated by the resultant antigen-antibody complex. The cell membranes are lysed by the complex and the determinable substance in the cells is liberated from the cells. The amount of the liberated substance is determined.

摘要: A temperature detecting device detects infrared rays from an object to be measured and determines the temperature of the object based on the detection result. To avoid the influence of contamination adhered to the infrared ray incident surface of an infrared ray detecting unit, a correction coefficient for the detection result of the infrared ray detecting unit is determined before actual temperature detecting starts. For this purpose, the infrared rays fed from the object into the infrared ray detecting unit are interrupted by a shutter device. The infrared ray detecting unit detects the infrared rays fed from the shutter device through the infrared ray incident surface, and it outputs a first detection value corresponding to the shutter temperature. A shutter temperature detecting element directly detects the actual temperature of the shutter device, and it outputs a second detection value corresponding to the actual temperature of the shutter device. The correction coefficient is determined by comparing the second detection value from the shutter temperature detecting element with the first detection value from the infrared ray detecting unit. Subsequently detected temperatures are then corrected by this correction coefficient.

摘要: A method of determining a draft schedule for a continuous rolling mill of n stands which gives consideration to both sheet crown and flatness is disclosed. Using (n-1) simultaneous equations for sheet crown, flatness, and power distribution, the exit side thickness and flatness at each of stands 1 through (n-1) are solved for. The process of solving for thickness and flatness is repeated until the flatnesses at a desired number of stands fall within permissible bounds. The draft schedule obtained by this method allows target values of crown and flatness to be met for the entire rolling cycle.

摘要: A thermal transfer color printer according to the present invention thermal inkribbon having heat-fusible color materials in a plurality of colors divided in the feed direction, a thermal head which moves relative to a print paper in order to cause the selective thermal transfer of the color material on a thermal inkribbon onto the print paper, and a color sensor for detecting the types of color materials on the thermal inkribbon. The distance in the feed direction of the color material portions of the thermal inkribbon is set at one divided by an integral portion of the standard print width of the print paper, while the distance between the color sensor and the thermal head is set the same as the distance in the feed direction of the color materials portion of the thermal inkribbon. The thermal transfer color printer further comprises a ribbon feed mechanism which cause the feed action of the thermal inkribbon, a head movement mechanism which causes movement of the thermal head to the print position and the standby position, a carriage movement mechanism which causes the carriage on which the thermal head and the color sensor are mounted, to move relative to the print paper, and a control device for cooperatively controls the ribbon feed mechanism, the head movement mechanism, and the carriage movement mechanism based on the print data differentiated by the color material.
