    摘要: A switch instruction is transmitted from a PC terminal (105) to a portable PC terminal (107) (S302); the portable PC terminal (107) transmits a switch connection request to a portable communication terminal (102) on the other end of communication (S306); the portable PC terminal (107), when it is waiting for a response to the switch connection request and receives a switch connection request from the other end of communication, detects that switching processes are being performed simultaneously (S312); upon detection of the simultaneous switching, a switching session related to either switch connection request is determined to be continued (S314 and S315); the portable PC terminal (107), which received the switch connection request to which the switching session determined to be continued was related, transmits a success response including information on the switching process of the portable PC terminal (107) side (S316 and S319); and the PC terminal 101, which received the switch connection request to which the one to be stopped was related, transmits a failure response (S317 and S318). This allows switching to be carried out with quick and not many procedures in both end communication terminals performing multimedia communication with each other.

    摘要: A session mobility for moving a session held between a switching source device and a communication counterpart to a switching destination device other than the switching source device. The switching source device transmits media data relating to a session by multicast or broadcast prior to device switching. The switching destination candidate device receives the transmitted media data, and thereby switching destination determined device, in replace of the switching source device, outputs media data. Thus, a switching time from a switching source device to a switching destination device can be made fast such that a user cannot perceive it.

    摘要: A motion vector estimation circuit (101) interpolates, with sub-pixel precision, a prediction block indicated by a motion vector estimated with integer-pixel precision as well as a region around the prediction block within a search area in a reference picture, using a 2-tap pixel interpolator (605), and estimates two or more motion vectors indicating positions of prediction blocks having high correlation with a current block to be coded, within the interpolated region. A motion compensation circuit (102) interpolates, with sub-pixel precision, each of the prediction blocks indicated by the estimated motion vectors, using a 6-tap pixel interpolator (901), compares the coding costs of the interpolated prediction blocks, and determines a motion vector indicating a position of a prediction block having highest correlation with the current block, from among the estimated motion vectors. As mentioned above, the number of motion vector candidates is narrowed down by sub-pixel precision motion prediction using a reference image created by a 2-tap filter, and then motion compensation is performed on these motion vector candidates using a 6-tap filter. Therefore, it becomes possible to achieve moving picture compression performance as high as sub-pixel precision motion prediction using a reference image created by a 6-tap filter.

    摘要: A video signal conversion apparatus converts DV-format encoded compressed video data to MPEG format data, by utilizing motion flag information contained in the DV data which specifies for each of respective DCT blocks whether interlaced-frame mode DCT processing or progressive-field mode DCT processing has been applied to the block when executing DV encoding. The motion flag information can be used by a procesing mode selection section to determine various MPEG encoding modes to be applied in units of MPEG macroblocks, such as selecting respective macroblocks to be subjected to interlaced-frame mode DCT processing by an orthogonal transform processing section when the set of motion flags corresponding to the blocks constituting that macroblock are judged to indicate no substantial amount of motion for the macroblock, and to select progressive-field mode DCT processing when a substantial amount of motion is judged to exist. The amount of MPEG processing can thereby be readily reduced, without deterioration of image quality.

    摘要: When a switching target device receives a media output indication from a sender device, a switch connects with contact B, which causes all image data stored in an extended media buffer to be inputted in a decoder, starting from the first frame (which is an I-frame) of the image data. The decoder decodes the image data, starting from the I-frame, and stores a reconstructed image in a reconstructed-image buffer. A reconstructed image required for decoding video picture data outputted from a media buffer is held in the reconstructed-image buffer. Thus, when device switching occurs, the decoder can immediately start decoding regardless of whether video picture data inputted from the media buffer is an intraframe.
