摘要: A motion vector estimating device estimating a motion vector having high accuracy is provided. An eliminating unit eliminates each of pictures in a set of input pictures for each picture. A picture reducing unit reduces left pictures after the elimination, and generates reduced pictures. An overall motion vector estimating unit reads the reduced pictures, stored in the frame memory, as either reduced inputted pictures or reduced reference pictures, and estimates an overall motion vector between reduced pictures. Based on the overall motion vector estimated between the reduced pictures, a correction motion vector calculating unit calculates a motion vector between two reduced pictures as a correction motion vector. The correction motion vector calculating unit calculates the motion vector in the order of the inputted pictures in a pre-eliminated set of input pictures. A coding unit estimates the motion vector for each macroblock, using a determined search range, and performs cording processing.

摘要: An integrated circuit for video/audio processing in which design resources obtained by development of video/audio devices can also be used for other types of video/audio devices. The integrated circuit includes a microcomputer that includes a CPU, a stream input/output for inputting/outputting a video and audio stream to and from an external device, a media processor that executes the media processing including at least one compressing and decompressing the video and audio stream inputted to the stream input/output, an AV input/output that converts the video and audio stream subjected to the media processing by the media processor into video and audio signals and outputting these signals to the external device. A memory interface controls a data transfer between the microcomputer, the stream input/output, the media processor and the AV input/output and an external memory.

The motion vector estimating device (100) includes: a first motion vector estimating unit (102) which calculates an evaluation value based on the amount of distortion calculated using search blocks and an input block and a correction value calculated using a motion vector with respect to each search block, a first prediction vector, and a weighting coefficient, and estimates a first motion vector of the input block based on the location of the input block and the location of a search block which provides the smallest evaluation value; a weighted coefficient calculating unit (103) which calculates the weighted coefficient; a prediction vector generating unit (104) which generates the first motion vector based on the first motion vector; and a second motion estimating unit (105) which estimates a motion vector determining, as an evaluation value, only the amount of distortion calculated using the search blocks and the input block.

摘要: A video signal encoding apparatus for enlarging a video signal by subjecting it to a coding process. The apparatus, using m×n blocks (m, n: natural number) as the unit block for coding a motion picture, performs DCT calculation and quantization, and, then, converting the block into s×t blocks (s, t: natural number), performs variable length coding. Thus, the apparatus generates compressed data of an enlarged motion picture and delivers the enlarged output. In the local decoder of the apparatus, it is switch selected by a switcher whether m×n inverse quantization coefficients, obtained by inverse quantization, are to be decoded by an s×t IDCT unit or by an m×n IDCT unit, in accordance with the accuracy in motion compensation. Further, the apparatus has a resizing unit for adjusting a motion-compensated reference picture to the picture size of an input image. The video signal encoding apparatus performs the encoding by enlarging a motion picture in a frequency domain so that the amount of data calculation in the encoding is decreased and deterioration in picture quality is suppressed.
