摘要: A brushless alternator includes a stationary field winding, a rotor, a stator, a rectifier, a terminal, and a protective resistor. The stationary field winding creates a magnetic flux. The rotor creates a rotating magnetic field with the magnetic flux created by the field winding. The stator includes three different-phase windings to generate a three-phase AC power in the rotating magnetic field created by the rotor. The rectifier rectifies the three-phase AC power generated by the stator into a DC power. The terminal is provided so that AC power generated by one of the three windings of the stator can be output from the alternator to external through the terminal. The protective resistor is electrically connected between the terminal and the one of the three windings of the stator to protect the alternator from electrical damage.

摘要: An opto-semiconductor device. An opto-semiconductor element includes a semiconductor substrate, a multilayered semiconductor layer formed on a first surface of the semiconductor substrate and having a resonator, a first electrode with multiple conductive layers formed on the multilayered semiconductor layer, and a second electrode formed on a second surface of the semiconductor substrate. A support substrate has a first surface formed with a fixing portion having a conductive layer for fixing the first electrode connected thereto through a bonding material. Bonding material and conductive layers forming the first electrode react to form a reaction layer. The difference in thermal expansion coefficient between semiconductor substrate and support substrate is not more than 50%. A second barrier metal layer not reactive with bonding material is formed inside the first electrode uppermost conductive layer, while uppermost layer reacts with the bonding material to form the reaction layer.

摘要: A highly reliable optical semiconductor device insusceptible to degradation in the characteristics thereof. An n-type buffer layer, n-type first cladding layer, active layer, a p-type first layer of the second cladding layer, p-type etch-stop layer, p-type second layer of the second cladding layer, and p-type contact layer are formed an n-type semiconductor substrate. Two lengths of separation grooves are formed in parallel in such a way as to reach the underside of the p-type second layer of the second cladding layer from the top face of the contact layer, and a ridge is formed between the respective separation grooves. The ridge comprises a lower portion thereof, made up of the second layer of the second cladding layer, and a portion of the contact layer, corresponding to the ridge, made up of the contact layer. Side parts of the top face of the portion of the contact layer, corresponding to the ridge, facing the separation grooves, respectively, are turned to tilted faces, respectively, and a barrier metal layer is formed on top of the tilted faces. Portions extending from side faces of the lower portion of the ridge to run across the respective separation grooves are covered with an insulating film. Since the tilted faces are formed at the respective side parts of the top face of the portion of the contact layer, no stepping occurs to the barrier metal layer. Accordingly, Au of an Au layer formed outside of the barrier metal layer is prevented from being diffused into the portion of the contact layer, corresponding to the ridge, made of GaAs, through steeped parts of the barrier metal layer.

摘要: A piezoelectric loudspeaker includes a diaphragm and a piezoelectric element bonded on a principal surface of the diaphragm. An electrode layer is provided on the surface of the piezoelectric element. The piezoelectric element has a structure formed by alternately laminating at least three piezoelectric layers and electrode layers in order to achieve a sufficient driving force. A conductive path composed of a strip-shaped metal foil and having an adhesive layer on the reverse face thereof is provided on the surface of the electrode layer. The adhesive layer may be conductive or nonconductive. Conductive paste having a low rigidity and a low volume resistivity is applied so as to be disposed over the surfaces of the conductive path and the electrode layer. Thus, a conductive layer having a Young's modulus of 100 MPa or less and a volume resistivity of 6×10−3 Ωcm or less is provided.

摘要: An angle member 9 is fixed to an insert 5 in a state in which a mounting portion 9a of the angle member 9 is fitted in a groove portion 5a depressed towards a core portion 4 side, whereby there is no case where an impact force applied to the angle member 9 and a connecting bar is transmitted directly to tubes 2, so that a possibility that a damage such as a crack is generated in the tubes 2 can be reduced. Consequently, the large vibration of a heat exchanging unit 7 can be suppressed while preventing the direct transmission of the impact force applied to the angle member 9 to the tubes 2.

摘要: A projection type display device includes: a light source for emitting light including multiple light components falling within different wavelength ranges; pixels for modulating the light independently; a first optical system, which receives the light from the light source and directs it toward the pixels; and a second optical system, which projects the light, modulated by the pixels, onto a projection plane. The first optical system includes an optical element for converging the light components onto mutually different ones of the pixels in accordance with their wavelength ranges. The pixels are arranged in a predetermined azimuth on a panel plane where the pixels are defined. The element has a first length in a first direction defined by the azimuth and a second length, greater than the first length, in a second direction substantially perpendicular to the first direction. The element converges the light components in the first and second directions.
