摘要： Provided are novel polyester compositions containing copper phthalocyanine sulfonamide colorants copolymerized therein. Also provided are amorphous color concentrates, partially-crystalline color concentrates and semi-crystalline color concentrates. These polyester compositions are particularly useful for use as colored packaging materials and for colorants for personal, medical, and home care products where non-extractability of the colorant residue is important.

摘要： Photographic elements, diffusion transfer assemblages and processes are described which employ a novel nondiffusible compound having a releasable 6-(2-thienylazo)-3-pyridinol cyan dye moiety or precursor thereof, the compound containing:(a) in the 3-position of the thienylazo moiety a carboxy group, a salt thereof or a hydrolyzable precursor thereof; and(b) a ballasted carrier moiety which is capable of releasing the diffusible 6-(2-thienylazo)-3-pyridinol dye moiety or precursor thereof under alkaline conditions.

摘要： Provided are new compounds useful as near infrared fluorophoric markers. In the practice of this invention a method is also provided for tagging thermoplastic containers using near infrared fluorescing compounds or copolymerized residues readily capable of detection. The new compounds are phthalocyanine and naphthalocyanine derivatives which are covalently bonded to substituted silicon and aluminum compounds. The methods, compositions, and compounds described herein thus provide a total system useful for marking, for identification purposes, the various classes of thermoplastic wastes, so that they can be identified, sorted, and subsequently recycled.

摘要： Provided is a new process useful for preparing arylsulfonyl halides, which comprises the addition or drowning of halosulfonation reaction products, produced by the reaction of aromatic compounds (arenes), with excess halosulfonic acid, into C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 aliphatic ketones, preferably acetone, isopropyl alcohol, or mixtures thereof, instead of drowning into water as is known in the art of aromatic sulfonyl chloride preparation. Less heat of reaction is observed, thus making the drowning of the halosulfonation reaction mixture safer and more controllable. Further, less hydrogen chloride gas is evolved from the drowning mixture and generally more highly pure arylsulfonyl chlorides are produced.
