    摘要: An electronic viewing tablet is provided with a uni-body display and touch screen system. The device includes a large display, connectors for USB, flash ROM ports (such as Smart Media, Compact Flash and Secure Digital/Multi-Media Flash) protected behind a waterproof access door, a wireless network interface, a momentary contact switch and a waterproof access panel for servicing the internal battery. An inductive charging system may be provided to recharge an internal battery. A microprocessor based electronic communication and control system controls the electronic components of the device. The electronic tablet allows a user to acquire content and applications on a personal computer or network or purchase data and images on removable flash media. Applications, data and images (electronic books, magazines, newspapers, text files, sheet music and “printed” files) may be downloaded to the tablet through a USB connector, a wireless connection, or through a ROM port. Once loaded onto the tablet, written material may be read wherever the user chooses, independent of the computer or network. A user interface presents simple commands to the user, presented in a graphical fashion on a display, allowing the user to navigate the information stored in the device and execute the applications that are present. Soft buttons on the touch screen allow the user to interact with the tablet.

A sensing system includes an electromagnetic pulse generator, a plasma antenna generator capable of reradiating an electromagnetic pulse emitted from the electromagnetic pulse generator, and a sensing system capable of receiving and analyzing at least a portion of the electromagnetic pulse after being reflected from an interface.

    摘要: Adaptive failover occurs between a Layer Three (L3) based network tunnel and a Layer Four (L4) based network tunnel. An example of a L4 based network tunnel is a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) tunnel and an example of a L3 based network tunnel is an Internet Protocol Security (IPSec) tunnel. SSL tunnels work through most firewalls and proxies, but may introduce latency and other performance problems. IPSec tunnels provide a more efficient performance, but may not work through some firewalls and proxies. The techniques include dynamically selecting a tunneling protocol in order to achieve a more efficient network tunnel performance when possible while maintaining consistent L3 connectivity from a variety of remote network environments.

    摘要: A virtual private network (VPN) client for cellular mobile devices is described. The VPN network client processes network packets for securely tunneling the network packets between the cellular mobile device and the remote VPN security device. Upon establishing the VPN connection, the VPN network client receives a web-based home page from the secure VPN device via a secure response, dynamically parses bookmark links from the secure response and renders a bookmark window using input controls native to the cellular mobile device without invoking a web browser on the cellular mobile device. Each of the input controls corresponds to a different one of the bookmarks parsed from the secure response. Upon selection of one of the input controls, the VPN network client formulates and outputs an appropriate request to the secure VPN device as if a corresponding one of the bookmark links were selected by the user.
