    摘要: Machinery for automated manufacture of formed wire structures such as innerspring assemblies for mattresses and seating and flexible support structures includes one or more coil formation devices configured to produce generally helical spring coils having a terminal convolution which extends beyond an end of the coil; a conveyor system having a plurality of flights slidably mounted upon a continuous track and connected to a chain and driven by an index driver; a coil transfer machine which removes a row of coils from the conveyor and inserts the coils into an innerspring assembler; and an innerspring assembler. A coil forming block on a coiler machine has a cavity in which a terminal convolution of the coil is formed, and from which the coil is cut by a cutter which extends into the cavity. Coil head formation dies at coil head forming stations of the coil forming machine also have a cavity for receiving a terminal convolution of a coil, and flanges which surround the cavity and provide a punch set for punches which form a coil head proximate to the terminal convolution in the die.

    摘要: A heating system uses a dynamic thermal stabilizer for receiving, mixing, holding and outputting a circulating heat exchange liquid in a fashion similar to the use of a flywheel in the mechanical arts. Liquid is returned to the dynamic thermal stabilizer from both an input heat exchange unit and an output heat exchange unit. A two pump system affords a simple tee fitting arrangement that provides room air heating by directly using hot liquid either from the dynamic thermal stabilizer or directly (and at higher temperature) from the input heat exchange unit itself to automatically achieve an additional boost of room heat using higher temperature liquid. The system can also provide initial short draws of domestic hot water from the dynamic thermal stabilizer alone or long draws of hot water by using the input heat exchange unit as a further source of heat input. The system includes a through-the-wall mounting system that simultaneously provides a source of combustion air and vents exhaust products, a spacer to maintain combustion air and exhaust pipes in spaced-apart relation, and a vent device for maintaining a cool, outer-vent surface. The system is combined with an air conditioning or heat pump system to provide a triple integrated appliance that provides room air heating and cooling and a source of domestic hot water.

    摘要: A lightweight portable device is provided to impart continuous passive motion to a user's shoulder. The device causes abduction and adduction and has the option of causing simultaneous rotation as well through use of a single actuator. The base of the device is curved to fit against a lateral portion of the user's torso and the device is held in position by a harness. An upper arm support is pivotally connected to and extends laterally from the base. A linear actuator extends between and is linked to the upper arm support and the base to cause abduction and adduction of the arm. A forearm support which is pivotally connected to the upper arm support and is also angularly adjustable relative to the upper arm support is linked to the base to cause rotation of the forearm support as the upper arm support is pivoted. The range of rotation can be varied or eliminated. The degree and speed of abduction and adduction can also be varied. The device is contained in a housing having a chamber with an extendable, two-part cover so that the operating mechansim is concealed.

    摘要: A system for reinforcing a rock formation, such as in mining or tunneling operations, wherein an elongated bolt is anchored in a blind drill hole in the rock formation by both a mechanical expansion anchor and a resin grouting mix. The invention is particularly directed to novel means which prevent relative rotation of the bolt and anchor in one direction and allow relative rotation in the opposite direction, whereby a conventional, two-compartment resin cartridge can be broken and its contents mixed while rotating the bolt and anchor in the first direction, and the anchor expanded to tension the bolt by reversing the direction of rotation before the resin mix hardens. The novel means comprise a collar element which is affixed to the end of the bolt above the expansion anchor and cooperatively engages a stop means on the anchor in only one direction of bolt rotation. A number of alternative means are disclosed for affixing the collar to the bolt.
