摘要: An onboard electronic system and associated method enables a player of an acoustic stringed instrument to control an electronic signal for modifying and amplifying sound while playing an instrument is described. The onboard electronic system is embedded in the tailpiece and/or the chinrest portions of the stringed instrument, and includes at least one pickup, a battery-powered amplification unit and at least one controller. The method includes steps for controlling sound amplification and tonal modification onboard an acoustic stringed instrument. The steps include sensing vibration from strings with a pickup, generating an electrical signal and transmitting the electrical signal to an amplification unit via an input cable, and modifying the electrical signal in response to one or more controllers located onboard the instrument.

摘要: A system for identification and assessment of performance optimizations implemented in the graphics environment, the identification and assessment of the performance optimizations based upon an optimized graphics call sequence generated by an application of one or more optimizations applied to a captured graphics call sequence occurring between said first and second drivers. The resulting optimized graphics call sequence causes the same graphics rendering to occur when provided to the graphics system as the original graphics call sequence. As such, the graphics application and associated graphics interface driver may then be analyzed by the application developer to identify specific modifications which, when implemented, would generate such an optimized graphics call sequence. This may include implementing specific modifications to the graphics application as well as implementing portions or all of the present invention into the driver for real-time execution.

摘要: A computer system with a number of subsystems or modules on separate circuit boards employs electronic keying to ensure proper configuration of these boards. A power key arrangement associated with a plug-in connector enables a separate power supply for each set of boards. A power supply turn-on signal is routed through a uniquely-configured connector path for each board, so the power supply turn-on is inhibited for improper configurations. The uniquely-configured connector path may use either a series or a parallel implementation. The series implementation employs a set of diodes connected for conduction in either of two directions, with the mating connector having its conductor paths connected to match the diode configuration; in this manner, the power supply enable signal can only flow through the series path if the proper board is plugged into a properly-coded slot, in which case the power supply to activate this board is activated through the series path including the diodes. The parallel implementation employs a given number of connector pins to establish the coding for each board, and each pin is either open-circuited or connected to ground; if this coding of the subsystem board is not the same as that of the slot into which it is plugged then the power supply activation signal will be shorted to ground by one or the other of the coded pins.

摘要: Blends of certain block copolymers and epoxy resins, which have superior thermoplastic adhesive properties are disclosed. The blends are prepared by mixing hydroxy-terminated poly(ester/ether) block copolymers with epoxy resins. These unreacted blends are useful as hot melt thermoplastic adhesives having very high peel strength, high tensile shear strength, creep resistance at elevated temperatures, and good viscosity stability.
