摘要: Green demulsifiers useful for demulsifying emulsions of water and crude oil are made by reacting together an alcohol, a multifunctional acid and/or anhydride, and a fatty acid, and optionally a polyol that is polyethylene glycol and/or polypropylene glycol. The green demulsifier has ester bonds between the reactant moieties. These ester bonds can hydrolyze which results in relatively high biodegradation.

摘要: A polyester elastomer resin composition having excellent anti-noise properties and wear resistance that achieves sustained wear resistance over a long period of time; enables lubricants to bleed out even in a low-temperature environment, so that the effects of the lubricants are maintained; and further prevents the lubricants from being dissolved in water, even when a molded article is washed with water. The polyester elastomer resin composition comprises a polyester elastomer (A), an aliphatic amide compound (B), and a copolyether (C), wherein the polyester elastomer (A) comprises a hard segment and a soft segment, the hard segment comprising a polyester that comprises, as constituents, an aromatic dicarboxylic acid and an aliphatic and/or alicyclic diol, the soft segment being at least one member selected from aliphatic polyethers, aliphatic polyesters, and aliphatic polycarbonates; the copolyether (C) comprises two or more different types of alkylene units and has a number average molecular weight of 1500 to 5000; and the aliphatic amide compound (B) is present in an amount of 0.01 to 1 part by mass, and the copolyether (C) is present in an amount of 0.1 to 10 parts by mass, per 100 parts by mass of the polyester elastomer (A).

摘要: The present invention is directed to non-aqueous, curable film-forming compositions comprising: a) an anhydride functional compound; b) at least one of: (i) a hydroxyl functional compound having at least two hydroxyl functional groups and (ii) a carbodiimide functional compound; and c) hydrolyzable functional groups. After application of the curable film-forming composition to a substrate to form a coated substrate, and upon subjecting the coated substrate to curing conditions, the curable film-forming composition undergoes multiple cure reactions. The present invention is further directed to methods of preparing coated substrates with these compositions.

摘要: The invention concerns a novel chain-terminated polymeric composition, comprising hydroxyl-terminated polyesters and a method for preparing the composition and the use of the chain-terminated polymeric composition as a plasticizer. They play a predominant role in the field of metal vacuum closures (Twist-Off and Press-On-Twist-Off closures). Selection criteria regarding the suitability of plasticizers in food contact applications are properties such as low plasticizer volatility, low plastisol viscosity, PVC compatibility, softness and resilience of the gasket as well as non-toxicity and high plasticizer migration resistance. The invention concerns the chemical equation of FIG. 1 for obtaining the suggested chain-terminated polymeric composition, wherein x, y, and z are the stoichiometric ratios of dibasic carboxylic acid (DCA), glycerol or polyglycerol (GPO), and monobasic carboxylic acid (MCA), k is the number of methylene groups in the dibasic carboxylic acid, (k+2) is the number of carbon atoms therein, m is the degree of polymerization of polyglycerol used, (m+2) describes the hydroxyl functionality thereof, l is the number of methylene groups in the monobasic carboxylic acid, (l+2) is the number of carbon atoms in the monobasic carboxylic acid, and n is the degree of polymerization of the polyester formed by glycerol or polyglycerol and the dibasic carboxylic acid.

摘要: Polyester polyols, processes for making them, and applications for the polyols are disclosed. In some aspects, the polyols comprise recurring units from a thermoplastic polyester or an aromatic polyacid source, a glycol, and a lignin, tannin, or mixture thereof. Optionally, the polyols incorporate recurring units of a hydrophobe. The polyols are made in one or multiple steps; in some aspects, the thermoplastic polyester or aromatic polyacid source and the glycol are reacted first, followed by reaction with the lignin, tannin, or mixture thereof. High-recycle-content polyols having desirable properties and attributes for formulating polyurethane products, including two-component polyurethane coatings, can be made. The polyols provide a sustainable alternative to bio- or petrochemical-based polyols.
