摘要: A rotary adsorption unit is disclosed wherein the desorb air is supplied by a regenerative thermal oxidizer. The system utilizes a closed desorb loop, with the desorb air being continuously cleaned at the regenerative thermal oxidizer and returned to the rotary adsorption unit. Fresh air is added into the desorb gas on the way to the regenerative thermal oxidizer, and an equal amount of air is bled off to maintain a constant air flow. The added air replaces oxygen that may be lost during cleaning of the desorb air.

摘要: A heat exchanger burn-out process for regenerative thermal oxidizers includes the steps of passing a super-heated gas through one of the heat exchangers and into the combustion chamber. The gas is preferably heated in a selectively opened injection line that includes a burner. The burner is designed to superheat the injection gas to a cleaning temperature. The cleaning temperature is selected to be high enough as to volatilize and/or combust the organic solids that are expected within the heat exchanger. The injection line is associated with one of the heat exchangers, and the other two of the normal three heat exchangers on the regenerative thermal oxidizer are switched between a supplemental injection mode, wherein cooling gas is injected through that heat exchanger, and an outlet mode wherein gas from the combustion chamber leads outwardly through the heat exchanger to an outlet manifold. The supplemental injection line reduces the overall temperature of the gas leaving the system through the outlet manifold. In one embodiment, the heated injection line is associated with the inlet manifold, and the supplemental injection line is associated with the purge manifold. In a second embodiment, the heated injection line is associated with the purge manifold and the supplemental injection line is associated with the inlet manifold.

摘要: An oven assembly for baking coatings applied to an object includes a housing with a header receiving pressurized air from a ventilator disposed outside the oven. A heater provides heat to the pressurized air received from the ventilator raising the temperature of the pressurized air to between about two and four times curing temperature in Fahrenheit degrees of the coatings applied to the object. The header extends from the heater into the housing. The header has nozzles disposed at spaced locations directing pressurized air at the temperature being between about two and four times the curing temperature in Fahrenheit degrees of the coating applied to the object toward predetermined locations on the object.

摘要: A pump for transferring particulate material from a source to a remote location, including a particulate chamber having open ends, check valves at the open ends, a vacuum source connected to the chamber adjacent one end, a gas source at the opposed end of the chamber and a control which alternatively connects the vacuum to the chamber to draw particulate material from the source to the chamber and connecting the gas under pressure to drive the particulate material to the remote location. In a preferred embodiment, the chamber has a cylindrical inner diameter and the source of vacuum is a venturi pump connected to a pinch valve permitting overflow of particulate material through the pinch valve and venturi pump, which is returned to the source. In one embodiment, the pinch valve surrounds an open end of the chamber permitting overflow while avoiding agglomeration of the particulate material.

摘要: A scrubber assembly for removing particulate paint from a flow of air through a paint application booth is disclosed. A sheet of water received from a water source flows over flood pan collecting paint particles suspended in the flow of air. A separation chamber receives air and particulate paint from the booth and water from the flood pan through first and second scrubbers. The first and second scrubbers extend downwardly from the flood pan. Each scrubber includes an inlet receiving air and particulate paint from the paint application booth and water from said flood pan. The first scrubber includes a first outlet discharging a first stream of air, particulate paint, and water received from the first inlet. The second scrubber includes a second outlet discharging a second stream of air, particulate paint and water received from the second inlet. The first and second streams intersect within the separation chamber.

摘要: A regenerative thermal oxidizer includes a heat exchange column formed of body which defines at least one entire flow passage through the heat exchanger. The structure of the heat exchange column assists in purging residual gas to be cleaned from the heat exchanger prior to that regenerative heat exchanger moving into a mode where it receives the cleaned gas. The heat exchanger columns preferably have 70 to 80 percent of their surface area used as the flow passages. In a further geometric arrangement made possible by the inventive heat exchanger described above, two heat exchanger columns are positioned on opposed sides of a combustion chamber. End faces of the two opposed heat exchangers transfer radiative heat energy from the hotter of the two heat exchanger end faces to the cooler of the two heat exchanger end faces. In this way, radiative heat energy is not lost, but is reused to heat the other of the heat exchangers.

摘要: The present invention is a regenerative vapor condenser for removing condensable vapors from a mixture of the vapors and another gas. The regenerative vapor condenser comprises two regenerator systems, a heat exchanger, and a valve mechanism. Each regenerator system comprises a regenerator for storing and releasing heat, and a phase separator for separating gas from solid and liquid phases. During operation one regenerator system operates in heating mode and one regenerator system operates in cooling mode. The vapor-gas mixture is directed by a valve system downward through the regenerator on cooling mode wherein the vapor-gas mixture is cooled by heat transfer to the cool regenerator media to below the dew point of the vapor causing the vapor to condense into a liquid or solid phase. The gas and condensed vapors exit the regenerator on cooling mode and enter the phase separator on cooling mode from where the gasses are directed into the heat exchanger and the condensed vapors are directed to a collection vessle. The gasses pass through the heat exchanger wherein they may be further cooled and are then passed by way of the phase seperator on warming mode into the regenerator on warming mode. The gasses are warmed in the regenerator on warming mode and are then vented by way of the valve system.
