The wavelength-selectable device has a waveguide substrate in which optical waveguides are built, a wavelength selector, and a movable mirror. The wavelength selector is fixed at a position where light propagating in the optical waveguide arrives, and the movable mirror is arranged to be movable between a first position where the light propagating in the optical waveguide arrives and a second position off the optical waveguide. This configuration achieves the wavelength-selectable device in the smaller structure.

The hermetic electric compressor includes an oil pump. The oil pump includes (i) a slanting channel formed in the lower portion of a main shaft and slanting from the lower portion to the upper portion thereof outwardly, (ii) a throttle formed at the bottom end of the main shaft and having an inlet port of diameter smaller than the section of the slanting channel at the center thereof, and (iii) a lower communicating passage for providing a communication between the bottom end of a spiral groove and the slanting channel. This constitution is capable of effectively lift the head of the lubricating oil.

The terminal includes an optical multiplexer/demultiplexer for multiplexing multiple signal channels included in the signal light, and the branch point is provided with a wavelength selector for selecting at least one of the multiplexed signal channels in accordance with a delivery service content of each subscriber home included in a delivery target group of the terminal and for delivering it to the subscriber home.
