摘要: An example microfluidic device includes a first substrate, a second substrate, a set of electrodes, a set of piezoelectric components, a support, a set of piezoelectric actuators coupled to the support, and a polymer component. In the example device, the set of electrodes and the set of piezoelectric components are coupled to a surface of the second substrate. The support is configured to support at least one of the first substrate and the second substrate. The set of piezoelectric actuators is configured to adjust positioning of the support. The polymer is adapted to removably couple the first and second substrates such that a microfluidic channel is formed between the first and second substrates while the first and second substrates are coupled by the polymer.

摘要: Methods and systems are provided for serial femtosecond crystallography for reducing the vast amount of waste of injected crystals practiced with traditional continuous flow injections. A micrometer-scale 3-D printed water-in-oil droplet generator device includes an oil phase inlet channel, an aqueous phase inlet channel, a droplet flow outlet channel, and two embedded non-contact electrodes. The inlet and outlet channels are connected internally at a junction. The electrodes comprise gallium metal injected within the 3-D printed device. Voltage across the electrodes generates water-in-oil droplets, determines a rate for a series of droplets, or triggers a phase shift in the droplets. An external trigger generates the droplets based on the frequency of an XFEL utilized in droplet detection, thereby synchronizing a series of droplets with x-ray pulses for efficient crystal detection. The generated droplets can be coupled to an SFX with XFEL experiment compatible with common liquid injector such as a GDVN.

The inlet channel defines an effective inlet surface area of the separation layer and the outlet channel defines an effective outlet surface area of the separation layer. The effective inlet surface area defines a first width towards the first lateral end and a second width towards the second lateral end.

摘要: A nano-biosensor system for early detection of diabetes includes a plurality of electrochemical immunosensors and a multiplexed microfluidic system that may be connected in fluid communication with the plurality of electrochemical immunosensors. A working electrode of each electrochemical immunosensor includes a base gold surface, a porous layer of polyaniline conductive polymer deposited onto the base gold surface, gold nanoparticles deposited inside pores of the porous layer of polyaniline conductive polymer, L-glutathione reduced linkers attached from respective thiol group ends of the L-glutathione reduced linkers to the gold nanoparticles, and a specific antigen connected to carboxyl group ends of the L-glutathione reduced linkers. The specific antigen includes at least one of recombinant insulin protein, insulin receptor protein, and recombinant glial fibrillary acidic protein.

The apparatus includes: a fluid channel having an upper panel, a lower panel, and a flow path formed therebetween that is configured to convey a sample including a single cell; a single cell measuring unit including first and second electrodes provided on the fluid channel in a predetermined spaced relationship for applying electrical signals to the sample in the flow path, and a detection electrode provided between the first and second electrodes to detect the single cell in the sample in the flow path, such that the single cell measuring unit applies the electrical signals to the sample in the flow path, detects the electrical signals of the sample, and detects whether there is the single cell in the sample; and a single cell separation control device which outputs a single cell separation control signal when the single cell is detected by the detection electrode.
