摘要： A single liquid-crystal display can be used to be either of direct-vision or projection type, if required. Separate display devices for monitor and OHP are not required. Further, power consumption can be reduced, with the service life of the display being prolonged to improve economy.The liquid-crystal display includes a display housing which receives a liquid-crystal panel, a driver circuit unit and a cooling fan, the display housing being detachably mountable in a back light stand. When the display housing is mounted or dismounted in the back light stand, the fan and back light can automatically be turned on or off to reduce the power consumption. The liquid-crystal panel can be prevented from being degraded by cooling it by way of the fan.

摘要： A picture processing apparatus is composed of an infrared ray sensor for producing an infrared picture in which a heat distribution of a measured area is recorded, a picture processing section for processing the infrared picture to extract pieces of personal characteristic data and environmental characteristic data from the infrared picture, and a picture information detecting section composed of a neural network for detecting pieces of personal information and environmental information according to the characteristic data. To be concrete, one or more human-areas respectively recording one or more persons are picked out from the infrared picture, and representative points of the human-areas, the number of human-areas, the number of pixels in each of the human-areas and shapes of the human-areas are extracted as the personal characteristic data. Also, the number of persons in each of the human-areas, foot positions of the persons, person's postures, skin temperatures of the persons and the volume of person's clothes are detected as the personal information according to the personal and environmental characteristic data.

摘要： In a display housing, first and Second liquid-crystal panels are disposed in parallel with each other, and a fluorescent lamp is positioned beside both ends of a gap between these panels. Thus, when used for a transmission type display, e.g. an OHP, the first liquid-crystal panel for light shutter is set in a transmission condition to transmit light from a light source for the OHP or the like and to irradiate the second liquid-crystal panel for displaying an image, thereby projecting the image in a magnified size onto a screen or the like. When used for a direct-vision type display, e.g. a monitor for a personal computer or the like, the first liquid-crystal panel is set in a shading condition to effect diffuse reflection of light from the fluorescent lamp by the first liquid-crystal panel and to irradiate the second liquid-crystal panel, thereby providing a direct-vision image.

摘要： System for radio transmission of level data of liquid contained in a tank and for converting to the level data to volume data to be indicated. A transmitter includes a cell for supplying electric power, a microcomputer connected to the cell and normally dept in a standby state in which it consumes a small amount of electric power. A timer is connected to the cell and the microcomputer to provide the latter with activation signals to place it in a activated state at a predetermined interval. A level detector if supplied with electric power from the cell only when the microcomputer is activated to provide the level data. A memory is continuously supplied with the electric power from the cell to memorize the level data, and a modulator supplied with the electric power from the cell only when the microcomputer is activated to transmit the level data in the memory by carrier waves through an antenna, whereby the system saves power consumption of the cell.

摘要： A method for inspecting resistance to film draw-out comprises the steps of holding a magazine in which photographic film wound around a spool is accommodated, rotating the spool in the direction that winds up the film around the spool, detecting the movement of a film leader, which has been drawn out from the magazine, to the magazine, and measuring the force required to rotate the spool when the movement of the film leader is detected. An apparatus for inspecting resistance to film draw-out comprises a magazine holder, and a spool rotation device for rotating the spool in the direction that winds up the film around the spool. A rotating force measurement device measures the force required for the spool rotation device to rotate the spool, and a film movement detector detects the movement of a film leader, which has been drawn out from the magazine, to the magazine. A device receives the output of the film movement detector and samples the output of the rotating force measurement device when the movement of the film leader is detected by the film movement detector.

摘要： An automatic magnetic recording medium ejecting mechanism for use in combination with a magnetic disk driving unit employs the spindle motor of the magnetic disk driving unit as a driving source for ejecting a magnetic disk cassette therefrom. The automatic magnetic recording medium ejecting mechanism includes, as essential components thereof, a gear mechanism for transmitting the rotative force of the spindle motor to an ejecting plate so that the ejecting plate is moved to a standby position where the ejecting plate is locked by a pressing and locking device which locks the ejecting plate at the standby position and presses the magnetic disk cassette for ejection until a magnetic disk cassette is inserted in the magnetic disk driving unit, a switch for detecting the completion of operation of the spindle motor for moving the ejecting plate to the standby position, and a switch control device interlocked with the gear mechanism for controlling the switch. The gear mechanism includes a pinion which disconnects a subsequent gear train from the spindle motor when the spindle motor operates in the normal direction for a read/write operation, and connects the subsequent gear train to the spindle motor when the spindle motor operates in the reverse direction for ejecting the magnetic disk cassette.

摘要： An automatic cut-sheet feeder incorporated in a printer includes an upper sheet guide having an ink ribbon replacement recess defining a clearance between the upper sheet guide and a print head of the printer for thereby allowing an ink ribbon cassette to be replaced with ease. When a cut sheet is fed to the front side of a platen, the print head mounted on a carriage is controlled to move to a position corresponding to the ink ribbon replacement recess in the upper sheet guide. The printed cut sheet can smoothly be discharged by the upper sheet guide into a stacker. The ink ribbon cassette on the print head can easily be replaced with a new one.
