    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE), such as a vehicular UE, may perform proactive beam management in a vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communications system. In some cases, road conditions may affect V2X connectivity for the V-UE. For example, if the V-UE is using a narrow beam and approaches a road with a steep gradient, the narrow beam may be unable to detect other V-UEs, which could lead to connection loss. Instead, the V-UE may proactively perform beam management or beam refinement to adjust the beam and maintain connectivity. For example, the V-UE may select a wider beam which has greater coverage, or the V-UE may update a direction of the narrow beam to maintain connection with neighboring V-UEs. The V-UE may use onboard sensor and computer vision-based techniques to detect changes to road conditions or its trajectory.

    Abstract: In a wireless network in which beams are transmitted by base stations, a beam relation database may be produced by crowdsourcing known positions of UEs and associated information related to beams received by the UEs at these positions. The beam information, for example, may include a beam identifier and cell identifier, and may further include measured signal parameters, such as Reference Signal Received Power (RSRP) or Reference Signal Received Quality (RSRQ). The beam relation database may be used by a network or the UE to determine a position of a UE based on beams that are detected by the UE. The position fix may be an initial position fix that may be used to generate assistance data for the UE. Additionally, the beam relation database may be used to identify relevant measurement objects in the assistance data based on beams that are detected by the UE.

    Abstract: During a positioning session, a wake up signal (WUS) configuration for a user equipment (UE) operating in a discontinuous reception (DRX) mode may be adapted to avoid dormant secondary serving cells (SCells) for positioning. The location server, for example, may configure positioning assistance data and scheduling of uplink sounding reference signals (SRS) to exclude SCells that are included in a dormancy list for the UE. The location server, alternatively, may provide to a serving base station supporting a primary serving cell (PCell) for the UE an indication of the SCells to be used for positioning. The SCells may be removed from the dormancy list during the positioning session or may be brought out of dormancy for all or selected monitoring occasions during the positioning session.

    Abstract: Aspects include systems, methods, devices, and non-transitory processor readable storage mediums for reducing excessive millimeter wave (mmW) radio frequency (RF) exposure to a user of a wireless device. Various aspects may enable an RF exposure condition for the wireless device to be detected while the wireless device is operating in a mmW mode during a voice. In some aspects, a mmW carrier quality report may be adjusted to deprioritize mmW in response to determining the RF exposure condition for the wireless device is occurring during the voice call.

    Abstract: A user equipment (UE) includes a processor configured to: send a first signal but not a second signal in response to the first and second signals being scheduled for concurrent transmission and available power for transmission of the first signal for the concurrent transmission being insufficient for detection of the first signal, the first signal being a first radio access technology (RAT) positioning reference signal; set a power sharing mode of the UE to a static power sharing mode; indicate that the UE is in a single-uplink operating mode with respect to the first RAT and the second RAT; and/or select a second-RAT TRP, for receiving the second signal, that has a maximum UE transmission power no greater than a threshold power in response to the initiation of the positioning session.
