Abstract:
A bioactive fraction obtained from Xylocarpus that is useful for the treatment of diabetes and dyslipidemia. This fraction can be provided in a pharmaceutical composition that is useful as antidiabetic and antidyslipidemic agent, or can be used in a method of treating diabetes and dyslipidemia in a subject. Also, a process for the preparation of bioactive fraction from Xylocarpus. Isomeric xyloccensins and the preparation of such compounds. Also, pharmaceutical compositions comprising a therapeutically effective amount of such isomeric xyloccensins optionally along with one or more pharmaceutically acceptable carriers, additives, lubricant and diluents and the use of such pharmaceutical compositions in a method for treating dyslipidemia.
Abstract:
Sterically hindered phenol and phosphite based compounds represented by structural formula II: and their use as antioxidants in a wide range of materials including, but not limited to, food, plastics, elastomers, composites and petroleum based products is disclosed herein.
Abstract:
Disclosed are compounds represented by structural formula (I): methods of producing compounds represented by structural formula (I), and their use in inhibiting oxidation in an oxidizable material.
Abstract:
A manufacturing method of a silicon carbide semiconductor device includes the steps of: preparing a semiconductor substrate including a silicon carbide substrate, a drift layer and a first semiconductor layer; forming a plurality of first trenches in a cell portion; forming a gate layer on an inner wall of each first trench by an epitaxial growth method; forming a first insulation film on the surface of the semiconductor substrate; forming a gate electrode on the first insulation film for connecting to the gate layer electrically; forming a source electrode on the first insulation film for connecting to the first semiconductor layer in the cell portion; and forming a drain electrode connected to the silicon carbide substrate electrically.
Abstract:
A modular force sensor apparatus, method, and system are provided to improve force and torque sensing and feedback to the surgeon performing a telerobotic surgery. In one embodiment, a modular force sensor includes a tube portion including a plurality of strain gauges, a proximal tube portion for operably coupling to a shaft of a surgical instrument that may be operably coupled to a manipulator arm of a robotic surgical system, and a distal tube portion for proximally coupling to a wrist joint coupled to an end portion.
Abstract:
This invention relates to compositions for the sustained release of biologically active polypeptides, and methods of forming and using said compositions, for the sustained release of biologically active polypeptides. The sustained release compositions of this invention comprise a biocompatible polymer having dispersed therein, a biologically active polypeptide and a sugar.
Abstract:
Disclosed are compositions comprising antioxidants and stabilizers, such as, acid scavengers or organic phosphorus stabilizers, and optionally further comprising co-stabilizers. The disclosed compositions are useful as stabilizers for polyolefins and other polymeric materials. The disclosed compositions and methods generally provide longer shelf lives and better oxidative resistance to materials than currently available antioxidants.
Abstract:
The present invention provides acylide derivatives, which can be used as antibacterial agents. Compounds disclosed herein can be used for the treatment or prevention of a condition caused by or contributed to by Gram-positive, Gram-negative or anaerobic bacteria, more particularly against bacterium such as Staphylococci, Streptococci, Enterococci, Haemophilus, Moraxalla spp., Chlamydia spp., Mycoplasm, Legionella spp., Myobacterium, Helicobacter, Clostridium, Bacteroides, Corynebacterium, Baccillus or Enterobactericeae. Processes for the preparation of disclosed compounds, pharmaceutical compositions thereof, and method of treating bacterial infections, are also provided.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, a router examines an incoming packet for a flow monitoring request. The router may examine every packet for the flow monitoring request, or preferably may only examine packets including a lifetime value indicating that the packet should be dropped and not forwarded or may only examine packets having a predetermined message format. When the flow monitoring request is included, the router performs detailed flow analysis or other monitoring according to the flow monitoring request.
