    摘要: A lighting control system for a space equipped with lamps for illuminating the space comprises a power circuit for supplying power to the lamps, a controllable switch in the power circuit for turning the lamps on and off, an occupancy sensor for detecting motion within the space and generating a motion-detected control signal in response to the detection of such motion, and a timer for measuring a time-out interval following the generation of the motion-detected control signal by the occupancy sensor and producing a time-out control signal in response to completion of the measurement of the time-out interval. A processor receives the control signals from the occupancy sensor and the timer and produces a switch-off control signal for the controllable switch to turn the lamps off in response to the time-out control signal, modifies the time-out interval by a time-out offset value in response to preselected events, counts the number of times the switch-off control signal is produced, without the receipt of the motion-detected control signal, within a predetermined time following the end of the time-out interval, and decrements the time-out interval by the offset value in response to the count reaching a predetermined value.

    摘要: A gas turbine engine component having shaped cooling holes that further enhances the cooling of a desired region while reducing stress levels in and around the cooling holes is disclosed. The cooling holes are generally elliptically-shaped and diffuse from a cooling fluid supply side to a discharge side and are oriented on the turbine component to reduce stress concentrations while directing the cooling fluid to a desired surface or location. The elliptical cooling holes have openings in the surface that have high points that are concentric and planar.

    摘要: The present invention learns phrase translation relationships by receiving a parallel aligned corpus with phrases to be learned identified in a source language. Candidate phrases in a target language are generated and an inside score is calculated based on word association scores for words inside the source language phrase and candidate phrase. An outside score is calculated based on word association scores for words outside the source language phrase and candidate phrase. The inside and outside scores are combined to obtain a joint score.

    摘要: A vessel transfer system utilizes a larger, surface effect vessel with a hull and a cargo deck, having a pressurized volume of air under its hull. The larger vessel cargo deck is lowered relative to a water surface in order to receive a smaller vessel. Lowering is achieved by depressurizing the volume of pressurized air under the hull. Movable propulsors on an air cushion vehicle permit efficient operation under way in an outer position, while minimizing the envelope dimensions for stowage in a well deck, providing clearance from bridges, docks, etc. in an inner position. In the outer position, the propellers operate in more uniform inflow conditions, resulting in improved performance and lower noise levels. In addition, the craft can be arranged to use a full width stern ramp resulting in time saved during cargo loading/unloading. The propellers will be less likely to ingest green water in high sea states.
