摘要: Utilizing vision systems at a wellsite, which may include operating a video camera to generate a video signal comprising images of one or more pieces of equipment or components and receiving the video signal by a processing system, which may then process the images to determine physical and/or operational characteristics associated with the one or more pieces of equipment in the images. The video signal may contain images of a crown block and/or a drawworks of a hoisting system at an oil and gas drill rig. The processing system may then process the video signal to determine when a traveling block of the hoisting system is within a threshold distance from the crown block.

摘要: A method for steering a downhole tool in a wellbore includes measuring a tool face when the drill bit is off-bottom, measuring an angular position of a drill string when the drill bit is off-bottom, and measuring a torque on the drill string when the drill bit is off-bottom. The method also includes measuring the tool face when the drill bit is on-bottom and measuring the torque on the drill string when the drill bit is on-bottom. The method also includes determining a transfer function comprising the angular position of the quill, the difference between the tool face when the drill bit is on-bottom and off-bottom, and the difference between the torque when the drill bit is on-bottom and off-bottom. The angular position of the drill string is varied at the surface, based upon the transfer function, to reduce an angle between the tool face when the drill bit is on-bottom and a target tool face.

摘要: Systems and methods for tracking depth of a drill string. The method includes determining a measured elevation difference between a first position of a sensor and a second position of the sensor, based on measurements taken by an elevation measurement device, determining a calibration elevation difference between the first and second positions based on measurements taken by the sensor using markers positioned at predetermined elevations, and calibrating the elevation measurement device based at least partially on a relationship between the measured elevation difference and the calibration elevation difference.

摘要: A data acquisition system that includes an acquisition software module having a memory device, and a measurement device that includes sensor interface modules and sensors is provided. The acquisition software module is operatively connected to the measurement device. The data acquisition system is disposed at some desired location and data is acquired. Acquiring data includes performing an operation such as auto-resend, auto-save, and auto-recovery. The measurement device may also include a front end acquisition module and field boxes. The sensor interface modules may provide the state of each sensor, detect disconnection of any sensor, and/or detect a fault state for any sensor. The acquisition software module may determine the states of certain components of the data acquisition system. The acquisition software module can receive topology data from the measurement device and store the data into its memory device. The acquired data may be monitored in real-time while operations are performed.
