This technology relates to a receiving apparatus, a transmitting apparatus, and a data processing method for displaying emergency information communicated in an emergency at appropriate positions.The receiving apparatus acquires metadata transmitted by a digital broadcast signal, the metadata including first emergency information required to be announced urgently and display position information indicating whether there is second emergency information embedded in uncompressed video data, the display position information further indicating, if the second emergency information is embedded in the uncompressed video data, the display position of the second emergency information on a screen. The receiving apparatus processes the metadata to determine whether the second emergency information is embedded in the uncompressed video data and, if the second emergency information is embedded in the uncompressed video data, displays the first emergency information at a position different from the display position of the second emergency information on the screen. This technology applies to television receivers, for example.

The present technology relates to a receiving device, a receiving method, a transmission device, and a transmission method for operation of various services.The receiving device acquires trigger information for providing various functions, the trigger information containing type information indicating the type of trigger information and channel information indicating a series for each function provided by the trigger information. The receiving device performs processing corresponding to each function on the basis of the trigger information identified by the type information and the channel information. The present technology is applicable to a television receiver being able to receive a digital broadcast signal, for example.

Disclosed herein is a receiving apparatus, a receiving method, and a program which are configured to provide application programs to be executed in response to AV content. The receiving apparatus includes: a receiving block; a trigger acquisition block; an application acquisition block; and a control block. The control block acquires trigger information and, on the basis of a command obtained from the acquired trigger information, acquires a data broadcast application from an application server on the Internet or a data broadcast application transmitted as NRT content of an NRT service using a FLUTE session by referencing an FDT identified by an SMT and an NRT-IT. In accordance with a command obtained from the acquired trigger information, the control block controls an operation of the acquired application program. The present technology is applicable to television receivers configured to receive digital television broadcast signals.

Enable appropriate caching of application programs executed in coordination with AV content. The cache memory temporarily stores a coordinated application that is executed in coordination with received AV content. When a plurality of coordinated applications are stored in the cache memory, a control block controls the cache memory according to the priority of the coordinated applications which corresponds to a predetermined frequency specified for each of them in advance. The present technology is applicable to, for example, television receivers that receive digital television broadcast signals.

The present technology relates to a reception apparatus, a transmission apparatus, and a data processing method that enable a frequency scan to be performed at a higher speed. The reception apparatus can receive a broadcast wave, perform the frequency scan on the broadcast wave on the basis of the number of providers information indicating the number of broadcasting providers providing a service in the same frequency band, and generate channel selection information for selecting the service, thereby enabling the frequency scan at a higher speed. The present technology is applicable to, for example, a receiver capable of receiving digital broadcasting.
