摘要: A parallel-serial conversion circuit includes a frequency divider circuit which outputs a dichotomized signal of an input clock signal. A positive edge triggered flip-flop and a negative edge triggered flip-flop receive data and the dichotomized signal is input. A tap signal generator receives the clock signal and generates and outputs a series of tap signals by providing different delays to the clock signal. A selection signal generator receives the tap signals and generates a series of pulse signals having the width equivalent to 1 bit of serial data. An inverter circuit inverts the dichotomized signal. A 10-bit parallel-serial converter receives data from of the flip-flops, a signal of the inverter circuit, and the pulse signals. The 10-bit parallel-serial converter performs parallel to serial conversion based on the input data and signals and outputs the serial data.

摘要: A liquid crystal display is provided with: a liquid crystal panel having a liquid crystal layer that is disposed between signal electrodes and scanning electrodes, a signal-side driving circuit which applies binary voltages representative of data to be displayed on the liquid crystal panel to the signal electrodes, a scanning-side driving circuit which successively applies scanning voltages to the scanning electrodes, a control circuit which controls the signal-side driving circuit so that rounded waveforms of voltages to be respectively applied to the signal electrodes are made virtually constant, and a compensation circuit which eliminates voltage distortions that are induced with respect to non-selected scanning electrodes, when the signal-side driving circuit is controlled. With this arrangement, it becomes possible to positively reduce the two types of crosstalk and also to achieve liquid crystal displays which have high display quality and are capable of making less conspicuous flickers and beats due to irregularly distorted waveforms which still remain slightly.

摘要: A bi-directional optical wireless communication apparatus comprises a modulator outputting a narrow band signal whose center frequency is selected from N center frequencies, an optical transmitter transmitting an optical signal from the narrow band signal, an optical receiver for receiving N optical signals, N receiving circuits corresponding to the N center frequencies, a cancelling circuit for cancelling the optical signal received by the optical receiver via reflective object in received N optical signals using the narrow band signal in accordance with a magnitude of the optical signal received by the optical receiver, a frequency discriminator discriminating frequencies of the received N optical signals, and a control circuit. The frequency discriminator discriminates for an interval that the optical transmitter does not transmit the optical signal. Then, the modulating circuit continuously outputs a received signal from one of N receiving circuits corresponding to the discriminated frequency and the modulator modulates the narrow band signal to have a center frequency other than the discriminated frequency under control of the control circuit. The interval is repeated with a repetition randomly set interval.

摘要: In a display device having a plurality of scanning-side electrodes arranged in one direction, a plurality of data-side electrodes arranged in a second direction intersection the first direction, and dielectric layers interposed therebetween, a modulated voltage the magnitude of which is varied according to the emission or non-emission of light is applied to the data-side electrodes, while applying a write voltage in line sequential fashion to the scanning-side electrodes, thereby performing the display control. In such a display device, the polarity of the voltage applied between the data-side electrode and the scanning-side electrode corresponding to the picture element to be driven for light emission is reversed one or more times during the period in which the write voltage is being applied to the scanning-side electrode. This serves to reduce the modulated voltage and the write voltage, thus contributing to the reduction in power consumption. Even when the modulated voltage or the write voltage is reduced, the desired brightness of emitted light can be obtained. In the case of not lowering the modulated voltage or the write voltage, it is possible to further enhance the brightness of emitted light.

摘要: A phased-array sound pickup apparatus has an array of directional microphones having individual directivity patterns equally oriented in a given direction. The directivity patterns of the microphones combine into the main lobe of the array. A plurality of variable delay circuits are connected to be responsive respectively to individual signals from the microphones for providing incremental delays to the individual signals and combining the delayed signals for delivery as an output of the apparatus. A delay control circuit is coupled to the variable delay circuits for generating a delay control signal for controlling the amount of the incremental delays to cause the main lobe to be steered at an angle to the given direction as a function of the delay control signal.

摘要: There is provided an inkjet printing apparatus which can output a stable image without density unevenness by performing appropriate drive control to print elements based upon an appropriate representative temperature of a chip whatever image data is printed on a print medium. For this purpose, detection temperatures of a plurality of temperature sensors are lined up in high temperature order, and coefficients by which the respective detection temperatures are multiplied, are determined to be associated with that order at the lining-up, determining a representative temperature by the weighted average method. The common drive pulse associated with to the individual chip based upon the representative temperature thus obtained, to be applied thereto. Thereby even if temperature variations of print elements on the chip exist, it is possible to appropriately control the entire chip in temperature.

摘要: Provided is a print position control method whereby displacement of a print position in a wide range can be corrected very accurately, without reducing a printing speed or increasing a manufacturing cost. Thus, a printing apparatus includes: a first correction unit, for correcting a print position at accuracy equal to the resolution of the printing apparatus; and a second correction unit, for correcting the print position at accuracy higher than the resolution and in the range of an area that corresponds to one pixel of the resolution. With this arrangement, the print position displacement in a wide range equal to or greater than one pixel can be corrected by the first correction unit, and a print position displacement smaller than one pixel can be corrected by the second correction unit. Therefore, correction of a print position displacement in a wide range is enabled at a higher accuracy.
