Abstract:
A stretching device that enables a user to employ the mechanical advantage of a multi-pulley system while performing various, prolonged muscle stretches; the stretching device including a first anchor assembly, a second anchor assembly, and a motion transfer line. The first motion transfer line has a first anchor body and a first motion transfer pulley; the first anchor body being attached to the user and the first motion transfer pulley being coupled to the first anchor body. Similarly, the second motion transfer line has a second anchor body and a second motion transfer pulley; the second anchor body being attached to a stationary object and the second motion transfer pulley being coupled to the second anchor body. The motion transfer line is terminally attached to the first anchor body and is trained around both the first motion transfer pulley and the second motion transfer pulley.

Abstract:
A massage table system/method allowing self-application of adjustable compression and stretching is disclosed. The system incorporates a frame support structure (FSS) horizontally supporting a patient support table (PST) and patient face cradle (PFC) permitting a massage patient to receive adjustable massage from a body contact assembly (BCA) positioned using a horizontal slide assembly (HSA) under pneumatic control of a horizontal cylinder assembly (HCA). The patient is massaged via a patient massage roller (PMR) radially articulated by the BCA in response to pneumatic pressure applied by a vertical cylinder assembly (VCA) while the BCA is positioned longitudinally over the patient by the HSA. A control interface box (CIB) provides adjustment of HSA travel speed, position, and applied pressure to the PMR by the VCA. Computer controls within the CIB may permit automated patient massage procedures by pre-programmed/memorized operation of pneumatic valves controlling the HSA and BCA.
Abstract:
The invention is a method consisting of stimulation of specific new acupuncture points to prevent, detect, treat and heal specific types of neoplastic process in humans. The specific acupuncture points used in the method of the invention have not been previously disclosed for the treatment of neoplastic processes. The treatments can be carried out by accredited practitioners in a clinical setting or by the patient her/himself at home. The stimulation can be provided by any of the known techniques used for stimulation of controlling points, including, but not limited to, traditional acupuncture needles, auto-injector needles, electric acupuncture, acupressure, lasers, acupuncture lasers, UV radiation, infra-red radiation, heat, magnets, moxibustion, and a combination of two or more of these techniques, for example, the use of both needles and laser acupuncture simultaneously in a single treatment session. The method of the invention is also used for detection and prevention of neoplastic process.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a massage apparatus in which a plurality of acupressure assemblies apply acupressure to the human body in close contact with the human body and move individually or in connection with each other, thereby inducing a user's joints to exercise.According to an aspect of the present invention, there is provided a massage apparatus comprising: a support frame; and one or more acupressure assemblies, each of which comprises one or more acupressure members rotated by power and is supported by the support frame, wherein the acupressure assemblies rotate in one direction around one axis of the support frame.
Abstract:
A back treatment apparatus (10), constituted of: a support member (50) arranged to support a lumbar region (130); a translation mechanism (210); and a control circuitry (100), the control circuitry arranged to control the translation mechanism to translate the support member along a plurality of paths and rotate the support member about at least one axis in a pre-determined range of motion. Preferably, the plurality of paths is constituted of at least: a generally linear path along an axis generally perpendicular in relation to a plane defined by the support member; and a generally linear path along an axis generally parallel in relation to the plane defined by the support member. Preferably, the back treatment apparatus is portable.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed toward a device for circumduction of a limb having a base, a vertical support operably coupled to and extending away from the base, a rotary member operably connected to the vertical support, a limb support member operably connected to the rotary member, and a motor drivingly engaged with the rotary member. The vertical support may be a rigid plate member, bracket, or frame. The bracket and/or frame may include at least one vertical member and at least one horizontal member. The rotary member is operably connected to the vertical support such that rotary member is free to rotate. Limb support member receives and supports the limb to be treated and is operably coupled to rotary member at a radial distance from a center of rotation thereby resulting in a circular motion of a limb when the motor is operated.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a mechanical orthotic that is an aid to walking, which attaches to the foot of the individual receiving treatment and to a mobile partial weight support apparatus, characterized in that it enables the individual to carry out walking and forward movement in just one operation and using the same device. Said device is essentially a mechanical orthotic that moves the foot; the device is attached to the foot of the individual and to the mobile partial weight support apparatus, consisting of a conveyor belt for the foot, from which belt extends a metal shaft with a foot support system at the end of the shaft where the foot will rest. Said conveyor belt is mounted on a matrix in the shape of the trajectory of the foot during walking. The matrix consists of a metal plate fixed to the mobile partial weight support apparatus and a system of bearings that enables the foot conveyor belt to move in order to reduce friction in the system. The orthotic is designed so that one device attaches to each foot, wherein the mobile metal shafts extend toward the individual, and are laterally fixed to the mobile partial weight support apparatus. The foot conveyor belt is in direct contact with the ground, and when moved by a therapist, the entire system (mobile partial weight support apparatus, mechanical foot movement orthotic and the individual) moves the foot conveyor belts, thereby moving the feet.
Abstract:
This invented multiple-phase dynamic cushion comprises a frame, at least a driving source, at least a transmission assembly, and clusters of plural strips interleaved in parallel. Taking a two-phase embodiment as an example, the two-phase strips interleave with each other, in parallel, to form the cushion's surface and alternate their tensions in turn; when one phase's strips periodically tighten to support the user's body, the other phase's strips will loosen, allowing the user's body covered by the loosened strips to take a rest, averting a pressure-ulcer risk. The driving source is energized by an altering energy, making the two strip groups alternate in loosening and tightening states periodically in turn. This invention can be converted into a portable dynamic chair when the four holes on the bottom of its four corners are inserted with legs; it can also be converted into a dynamic support for a lying human body.
Abstract:
A back massaging device includes two eccentric rotation members each having an eccentric hole and a resting face, and two swing arms each provided with a mounting hole which has a sliding face. Thus, when each of the swing arms is pressed by the user's body, the sliding face of each of the swing arms is slidable on the resting face of the respective eccentric rotation member to freely adjust the angle of each of the swing arms, so that the first massaging member and the second massaging member of each of the swing arms touch the user's body evenly and exactly, and the pressing force applied by the first massaging member and the second massaging member are distributed evenly and smoothly on the user's body.
