Abstract:
A pedicure bowl has a bottom discharge drain opening communicating with a discharge duct and is arranged to receive a liner to ensure hygienic operation in the form of a thin flexible material applied over the inner surface to contain the liquid within the liner and to cover the drain opening. The drain opening is closed by the liner so that liquid within the container applies downward pressure on the liner at the drain opening and a sealing member is mounted in the duct downstream of the drain opening to prevent air flow so as to form a back pressure underneath the liner to prevent the downward pressure from rupturing the liner. The sealing member is operable to release the back pressure to cause the liner at the discharge opening to rupture.
Abstract:
A device for compressive treatment of a body part includes a compression member, adapted to at least partly encircle the body part, and an actuation unit, arranged to tighten the compression member to provide a compressive force to the body part. Methods are provided for its therapeutic, cosmetic and non-therapeutic use and operation.
Abstract:
Pure sodium chloride is dissolved in sterile distilled water to form a sterile pure saline solution. A hermetically sealed disposable spray container holds a single measured dosage of the solution for fully rinsing and cleansing a nasal passageway. The measured dosage is sufficient for rinsing and cleansing the nasal passage and harmless if the measured dosage mistakenly enters the lungs or sinuses or stomach of the user.
Abstract:
A method of making a handheld, electromechanical device useful in mammalian body-care includes the steps of: a) forming a one-piece housing having a single opening defined by a rim; b) assembling a unitary insert; c) inserting the unitary insert through the single opening of the housing; d) removably applying a cover having an exterior surface to close the opening of the one-piece housing; and e) attaching the unitary insert to at least one of the one-piece housing and the removable cover. The rim of the one-piece housing circumscribes a rim area, and the one-piece housing has a projected area that is substantially larger than the rim area. The unitary insert is dimensioned to be insertable through the opening defined by the rim, and it has a frame having disposed thereon electromechanical elements interconnected in an electrical circuit. The cover closes off the opening of the one-piece housing.
Abstract:
A handheld device for application to a skin surface of a human or animal includes a housing arranged and configured for gripping by a human hand having a mount for a thermal body-care element, a thermal body-care element operatively connected to the mount on the housing, a motion-generating system contained within the housing, and a heat-generating element. The thermal body-care element has a body-care surface. The motion-generating system includes a motor operatively coupled to the body-care surface to impart motion thereto and electrically coupled to an internal electric power source contained within the housing. The heat-generating element is thermally coupled to the body-care surface and has a container enclosing an electric heater in thermal contact with a thermal energy storage medium and an electrical connection for selective coupling to an external electrical power source. The heat-generating element container is disposed within the thermal body-care element.
Abstract:
A method of making a handheld, electromechanical device useful in body-care includes the steps of: forming a one-piece housing having a single opening defined by a rim; selecting a unitary insert; inserting the insert through the opening; selecting a cover; removably applying the cover to close the opening; and attaching the insert to at least one of the housing and cover. The rim of the housing circumscribes a rim area and the housing has a projected area that is substantially larger than the rim area. The insert is selected from a plurality of different inserts. The cover is arranged and configured to cooperate with the selected insert, and each of the plurality of different covers is arranged and configured to cooperate with one or more of the plurality of different inserts. Methods of customizing these devices and kits for consumer use are also described.
Abstract:
A self-contained oral vibrator featuring an elastomeric band that is generally used as a sexual novelty apparatus. The apparatus is made of two basic parts. The first part, the integrated vibrator, is comprised of a motor used to cause vibration, a small battery power source and an external barrel 4. The second primary element of the apparatus is the elastomeric band itself. The band is designed to both fasten to the tongue during use and also house the vibration apparatus. The elastomeric band is essentially made of two parts; the first part, the bottom part, is a flat loop that wraps around the tongue during use while the second part, the top part, is designed as a barrel 4 to hold in place the vibration barrel in place. The vibration barrel and band together form an integrated tongue vibrator absent the necessity for multiple parts to achieve the same end result.
Abstract:
A pedicure spa tub sanitary apparatus and system includes a disposable spa tub basin liner and a disposable gas jet member that includes a quick-connect coupling for easy assembly and removal after each use. The spa tub basin liner is made from plastic and conforms to the shape of the spa tub. The disposable gas jet member is also preferably made from plastic or other rigid material and cooperates with a valved gas coupling member secured in the spa basin wall to provide a safe and sanitary air jetting function when the spa tub basin is filled with water, thereby reducing the risk of spreading infectious disease. During use, the disposable gas jet member may be disposed within a wall trough of the spa tub to protect the disposable gas jet member and quick-connect coupling from accidental breakage and/or disconnection.
Abstract:
A device for compressive treatment of a body part comprises a compression member, adapted to at least partly encircle the body part, and an actuation unit, arranged to tighten the compression member to provide a compressive force to the body part. The actuation unit comprises an active material actuator. There is also disclosed a system comprising such a device and methods for its therapeutic, cosmetic and non-therapeutic use and operation.
Abstract:
An inflatable device (10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 or 18) both for vaginal cleaning and hygiene and for sexual aid and its methods of use are disclosed. The device comprises a pouch or bladder (30 or 30′) with an open-end or opening (34 or 34′) and in substantial shape and size of the condom and a standard valve (20 or 20′) or the like (20″) with a base (22, 22′ or 22″). The bladder is made of a layer of flexible and inelastic airtight durable material. The opening is air-tightly sealed with the base. The inflated device functions as dildos and, when enclosed in a micro-vibrator, as vibrators. The poked device is used for delivering medication to appropriate areas of the vagina and for washing the vagina with water. The device is packed in a small sealed package before use and is disposable after use.
