Abstract:
A portable compression system for preventing deep vein thrombosis is provided. The portable compression system includes an inflatable apparatus comprising a monitor unit and at least one inflatable air cell. The portable compression system further includes an outer cuff comprising a pocket configured to receive the inflatable apparatus, the outer cuff configured to be wrapped around a portion of a patient's body where prevention of deep vein thrombosis is desired. The portable compression system further includes a disposable sleeve barrier configured to provide a physical barrier between the outer cuff and the portion of the patient's body.

Abstract:
Wearable sensors and cybernetic systems that allow one or more operators to interact and control operations of electronic, mechanical, robotic, or biomedical systems, and methods of use in gynecology, female sexual response and female sexual well-being.
Abstract:
Embodiments provide systems, apparatus and methods for cleaning a vagina. Embodiments include a handle; and a cleaning bulb coupled to the handle, the cleaning bulb having a shape including a plurality of ridges and grooves extending longitudinally along a length of the cleaning bulb, the cleaning bulb formed from a ridged material and adapted to be used to wipe the walls of a vagina upon insertion thereof. Numerous additional aspects are disclosed.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for neuromodulation of a female patient suffering from a pelvic condition, such as incontinence, are disclosed. A mechanical stimulus such as pressure, tension, traction, friction, or vibration for example can be applied to one, two, or more clitoral structures sufficient to cause a physiologic stimulus or inhibition, such as neuromodulation to treat or prevent the pelvic condition.
Abstract:
A method for providing a combined DVT and compression therapy to a patient is provided. The method includes providing a control unit configured to condition heat transfer fluid and to selectively provide a compressed gas, providing a thermal compression device that is mountable to a select portion of the patient, and programming the control unit to supply heat transfer fluid to the thermal compression device and to supply compressed gas to the thermal compression device.
Abstract:
A hand held exfoliation device suitable for repeated use on a facial skin surface is provided. The exfoliation device includes a body and an exfoliating material attached thereto that is sized for application to a facial skin surface. The exfoliating material includes a substrate and an exfoliating surface. The exfoliating surface is formed from a plurality of particles, wherein the plurality of particles are attached to the substrate to form peaks and valleys thereon. The exfoliating material has a surface roughness Sa from about 2 μm to about 16 μm and the particles have an average Mohs hardness from about 4 to about 8.
Abstract:
A thermal body-care element includes a container having at least one thermally conductive surface enclosing an electric heater in thermal contact with a thermal energy storage medium comprising a phase change storage medium and an electrical connection for selective coupling to an external electrical power source. The external electrical power source is external to the thermal body-care element. A method of applying heat to a skin surface of a human or animal is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A method of making a handheld, electromechanical device useful in mammalian body-care includes the steps of: a) forming a one-piece housing having a single opening defined by a rim; b) assembling a unitary insert; c) inserting the unitary insert through the single opening of the housing; d) removably applying a cover having an exterior surface to close the opening of the one-piece housing; and e) attaching the unitary insert to at least one of the one-piece housing and the removable cover. The rim of the one-piece housing circumscribes a rim area, and the one-piece housing has a projected area that is substantially larger than the rim area. The unitary insert is dimensioned to be insertable through the opening defined by the rim, and it has a frame having disposed thereon electromechanical elements interconnected in an electrical circuit. The cover closes off the opening of the one-piece housing.
Abstract:
A condom may include pouch having a wall and a frame. The pouch may have an open end and a closed end and the frame may be positioned proximate the open end. An anchoring device may be secured to the pouch proximate the closed end. Further, a harness or accessory attachment may be provided to assist in securing the condom to a user. At least one condom accessory, for stimulating at least one of the five senses, may also be positioned on or in at least one of the pouch, frame, anchor or harness using a variety of attachment methods.
