The grooves (9) have the size of their sectional area predetermined and have at least a part of the internal surface thereof rendered hydrophobic so as to permit the transfer of gas component while inhibiting any liquid passage. A sample water containing carbon dioxide is caused to flow through one of the flow channels (3) while pure water is caused to flow through the other flow channel (4) to thereby transfer the carbon dioxide contained in the sample water into the pure water.

    摘要: This disclosure relates to a method for deaerating a liquid layer such as a coating solution using electrostatic forces. A flow of charged particles is created above and moved towards a low conductivity liquid layer. The flow of charged particles causes localized thinning of the liquid layer which facilitates the removal of bubbles of entrained gas from the liquid by bringing those bubbles closer to the exposed surface of the liquid and rupturing them at that surface. This electrostatic deaeration technique is combined with other non-electrostatic liquid layer thinning techniques or degassing techniques to further facilitate removal of bubbles from the liquid in preparation of further processing of the liquid. The liquid layer may be stationary or flowing with respect to the application of charge particles.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for removing air from a liquid. The invention provides a heater for heating the liquid so as to reduce the ability of the liquid to retain air, a tank for storing an accumulation of the liquid which has been deaerated, and a means for delivery of the heated liquid into the tank. The delivery means comprises a vertical pipe exposing the hot liquid to an ambiance so that a substantial number of discrete bubbles in the heated liquid will accelerate toward and burst upon contact with the ambiance. The delivery means further includes a generally conically shaped member for cascading the heated liquid in the form of a film so that the film of liquid is exposed to the ambiance to substantially rid the liquid of dissolved air. The invention further provides, in the tank, means for cooling the accumulation of deaerated liquid in such a way that the surface of the liquid in the tank is at a substantially higher temperature than the remainder of the liquid in the tank. The hotter surface liquid functions as a barrier to prevent reaerating of the liquid in the tank.
