Abstract:
An opening flap comprises a frame and a flap articulated thereto. A lift arm is provided, which is articulated by a principal energy accumulator. A secondary energy accumulator is articulated between the lift arm and the flap. The principal energy accumulator delivers the opening motion of the flap into a position before the dead center thereof. The secondary energy accumulator, which is distinctly weaker, delivers the subsequent opening motion.
Abstract:
A vehicle door apparatus includes a drive mechanism and a closure mechanism including a striker and a latch. The striker is positioned within a region where the striker is engageable with the latch when the drive mechanism drives the door in a closing direction. The latch is driven to engage with the striker and shifted to a final locked position by the closure mechanism. The vehicle door apparatus also includes a control mechanism for controlling operations of the drive mechanism and the closure mechanism, a detection means for detecting the striker to be positioned within the region where the striker is engageable with the latch, and a drive force decreasing mechanism provided in the control mechanism for decreasing an output of the drive mechanism after the detecting means detects that the strikes is positioned within the region where the striker is engageable with the latch.
Abstract:
An improved four-bar hinge assembly for attaching a trunk deck lid to a vehicle body in which the control link of the four-bar linkage has its usual vehicle-mounted pivot pin replaced by the rotatably driven output drive shaft of a power drive mechanism that is rigidly and directly coupled to the control link to swing to the same and thereby power actuate the four-bar linkage in order to pivot the deck lid between open and closed positions. The hinge elements are located on the weather side of the vehicle body components and the drive shaft extends through the vehicle sheet metal into the weather sealed trunk compartment so that the electromechanical drive components are mounted within the weather sealed trunk.
Abstract:
A hinge for pivoting a flap, and in particular, to a hinge for pivoting a flap on a motor vehicle. The hinge aids the closing of the flap and includes two linkages or legs which are arranged rotatably around at least one axis of rotation and are connected with one another. A transmission is arranged for transmitting a torque formed during a closing movement of the hinge to a flywheel mass for the accumulation and subsequent aiding and continuation of the closing movement.
Abstract:
A power operating system opens and closes a vehicle liftgate that is pivotally attached to an aft end of a vehicle roof for pivotal movement between and open position and a closed position about a generally horizontal hinge axis. The power operating system has a gas spring strut counterbalance system and at least one drive unit that includes a reversible electric motor, a spool driven by the electric motor, a flexible web that has one end attached to the spool and an opposite end attached to the liftgate, and a pusher member that is driven by the electric motor between a retracted position and an extended position. The pusher member engages the liftgate and rotates the liftgate part way to the open position. The liftgate is closed by winding the flexible web onto the spool.
Abstract:
An actuating system includes a driving device fixed to a base part and operatively connected to a movable part. A sensor detects the rotational speed of the movable part at a reference measuring location, and a control system forms a differential of the rotational speed with respect to the time. The formed differential is compared in a comparison unit with a stored differential value which corresponds to a measuring point on a route of movement of the movable part. An obstacle is recognized when there is a difference above a threshold value between the formed differential and the associated stored value.
Abstract:
A power closure panel control apparatus is independent of closure panel configuration and capable of a diverse range of remote and direct activation. Sophisticated safety features utilize an adaptive strategy to facilitate highly sensitive obstruction detection by learning the closure system's force requirement and applying a safety margin to it. The control system allows the closure panel to operate in a totally manual mode.
Abstract:
A vehicle power liftgate cable drive has a cable drive housing. An electric motor with a motor housing and an output shaft is secured to the cable drive housing. A clutch pack with a first clutch driven by the output shaft and a second clutch driven by the first clutch, is mounted in the cable drive housing. One of the clutches in the clutch pack is a one way clutch and the other clutch is an electromechanical clutch. A pinion gear is driven by the second clutch. A driven gear is rotatably journaled on a fixed shaft and driven by the pinion gear. The cable drum is attached to the driven gear. A coil spring has one end fixed to the fixed shaft and its other end attached to the cable drum. The fixed shaft is rotated to preload the coil spring in a direction that tends to wind a cable on the cable drum and then the fixed shaft is fastened to the cable drive housing. A cable is attached to the cable drum and to the liftgate.
Abstract:
Composite oven door and hinge which is fixedly but detachably mounted on a stove. The door is pivotal between closed, broil and open positions and the hinge provides for counterbalancing in moving between broil and open positions.
Abstract:
A one-piece molded plastic hinge member for a washing machine or other appliance door having integral starter attachment means for mounting to the appliance without auxiliary fasteners, an integral pintle for pivotal connection to a door, an upstanding stop element for limiting movement of the door, and an integral upstanding pad portion for preventing direct contact between the door and an adjacent part of the appliance.
