摘要: The invention relates to a turbine engine device of the gas turbine cycle type with cooled compression, regeneration, and reheating during expansion. The turbine engine device comprises a first turbocharger (C1, T2), a second turbocharger (C2, T1), two combustion chambers (CC1, CC2), an intercooler (IC), and a heat exchanger (E1). The device is configured to implement a fluid flow from the first compressor (C1) to the intercooler (IC), to the second compressor (C2), to the heat exchanger (E1), to the first combustion chamber (CC1), to the second turbine (T1) or the first turbine, to the second combustion chamber (CC2), to the first turbine (T2) or the second turbine, According to one aspect, the turbochargers are mounted on separate axes (A1, A2).

摘要: Power systems, heat exchanger systems, electrical regeneration systems and air drag reduction systems for a wheeled vehicle are provided. The systems comprise a vehicle that includes a compressed air system and electrical system. The power and drag reduction system also comprises a plurality of pneumatic motors, one each connected to each wheel, the pneumatic motors using compressed air to drive each wheel and a plurality of electric motors, two each connected to each wheel, the electric motors using electric power to drive each wheel. Based on operator action, the vehicle is propelled by one of compressed air system operation and electrical system operation. Motors associated with each of the compressed air system and electrical system are attached to and drive each wheel separately. The compressed air system and electrical system operate separately and recharge battery systems.

摘要: A method and apparatus are disclosed for a gas turbine spool design combining metallic and ceramic components in a way that controls clearances between critical components over a range of engine operating temperatures and pressures. In a first embodiment, a ceramic turbine rotor rotates just inside a ceramic shroud and separated by a small clearance gap. The ceramic rotor is connected to a metallic volute. In order to accommodate the differential rates of thermal expansion between the ceramic rotor and metallic volute, an active clearance control system is used to maintain the desired axial clearance between ceramic rotor and the ceramic shroud over the range of engine operating temperatures. In a second embodiment, a ceramic turbine rotor rotates just inside a ceramic shroud which is part of a single piece ceramic volute/shroud assembly. As temperature increases, the ceramic volute expands at approximately the same rate as ceramic shroud and tends to increase the axial clearance gap between the ceramic rotor and ceramic shroud, but only by a small amount compared to a metallic volute attached to the shroud in the same way.

摘要: A combined cycle engine is used to provide power to a vehicle. In one form the combined cycle engine includes two engines coupled through a gearbox. The engines can include a gas turbine engine, reciprocating engine, and a rotary engine. In one embodiment the combined cycle engine includes a gas turbine engine coupled to a gearbox along with either a reciprocating or rotary engine also coupled to the gearbox. One or more clutches can be provided to selectively couple the gas turbine engine and the reciprocating or rotary engine to the vehicle through the gearbox. In one embodiment the diesel engine can provide power to the vehicle during an idle condition and then also provide power to the gas turbine engine to assist the starting of the gas turbine engine.
