    Abstract: A measuring device having a transmitter includes a measuring device section, a data processing unit, a transmitter, and a casing. The measuring device section converts measuring data into a digital value and outputs it. The data processing unit arranges the measurement data obtained in the measuring device section in a transmission data string having a predetermined format and outputs it. The transmitter transmits the transmission data, which is output from the data processing unit, by radio transmission. The transmitter is housed in the casing, which is attached to a portion near an operation section of the measuring device section, together with the data processing unit. An antenna output terminal of the transmitter is connected to the casing or a conductor portion near the casing.

    Abstract: Systems, methods, and software to facilitate management of industrial operations are disclosed herein. In at least one implementation, a portable HMI device is connected to a display system via a video interface, wherein the video interface provides interchangeability between a plurality of different display systems. A plurality of applications is stored in the portable HMI device. A remote navigation interface of the portable HMI device receives a selection transmitted from a remote navigation device, wherein the selection is associated with an industrial operation application of the applications displayed on the display system. The portable HMI device processes the selection of the industrial operation application and responsively executes the industrial operation application to communicate with an application server. A communication interface of the portable HMI device receives industrial operation data associated with the industrial operation application transmitted from the application server over a communication network for display on the display system.

    Abstract: The invention regards a system and method for assisting reductive shaping of an object into a desired 3D-shape by removing material. The system comprises a tool and a localization means. The tool is configured to remove material from an object by means of a cutting function or a grinding function performed by a working head of the tool. The localization means determines a position of the working head relative to the desired 3D-shape. Each time the grinding function or cutting function would remove material from an inside of the desired 3D-shape the cutting or grinding function is deactivated.

    Abstract: An apparatus includes a handheld tool for executing an assembly process within a confined work space. A local positioning module (LPM) is connected to the tool to collect raw data describing motion of the LPM and tool within the work space. A control unit communicates with a host machine and the tool, and updates an assembly setting of the tool. The host executes a control action when a position determined using the raw data is not equal to a corresponding position in a predetermined sequence. A method calculates the present position of a handheld torque wrench using three gyroscopes and three accelerometers, and calculating a present position of a fastener using the present position of the tool. The present position of the fastener is compared to a corresponding position in the predetermined sequence, and the torque wrench is disabled when the fastener position is not equal to the corresponding position.
