Abstract:
Aspects of the disclosure herein relate to systems and methods for heating, cooling, and/or displaying food. A food display system may include a base; a support engaged with the base; a canopy supported by the support, the canopy having a top surface, a bottom surface, and an edge surface between the top and bottom surfaces, the edge surface having at least a first portion and a second portion; and a light source configured to provide light to the first portion of the edge surface of the canopy and illuminate the second portion of the edge surface of the canopy. The canopy may be configured to be located above a food item.
Abstract:
For trade fair visitors, the trade fair visit should be possible in such a way as to produce less stress and use up less energy. There is therefore a need for a presentation system with which it is possible to spare the trade fair visitor (the future customer) unnecessary walking, so the trade fair visit can become a pleasantly relaxed experience. This is achieved by an exhibition or presentation at a trade fair, in which a plurality of presentation platforms (3) are coupled to one another in the manner of a train, and the coupled presentation platforms are moved at a speed of less than 5 km/h in a continuous loop on a predetermined transport path (2) and in a predetermined direction, with this taking place past stationary areas or regions (5) for visitors to the trade fair, on which they may firstly be “stationary”, without missing out on any trade fair stand.
Abstract:
A storage system including a panel having a surface, and a storage component or partition configured to be releasably attached to the panel and supported on the surface to at least partially define a cavity. The system also includes a sensor configured to sense at least one of a removal, placement, presence or absence of an item in the cavity. The system further includes a wire configured to be operatively coupled to the sensor. The panel is configured to receive the wire such that the wire extends along a same side of the panel as the storage component or partition and is recessed relative to the surface.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a lock (1) which can be actively released and locked by control technology, particularly for use in automatic storage machines having a plurality of compartments with compartment doors (2) which are to be opened individually, and to an automatic storage machine having at least one such lock (1). The lock (1) comprises a detent pawl (14), which can lock a locking element (9), which is permanently connected to a compartment door (2), in the lock such that the compartment door (2) can be held in closed position. The lock further has a first electric drive element (17) which transitions the detent pawl (14) from the locking position to a release position upon the applying of electrical power, such that the compartment door (2) can be opened. The lock (1) further comprises a security device (32), which prevents an automatic reset of the detent pawl (14) from the release position to the locking position when the lock (1) is in an unpowered state or the automatic storage machine is in an unpowered state, and an unintentional, accidental or improper locking of a compartment door can thus be avoided. In order to properly lock a compartment door, the security device (32) of the lock (1) comprises a second electric drive element, by means of which the detent pawl (14) can be transitioned back to the locking position thereof upon the applying of electrical power to said second electric drive element during closing of the compartment door (2).
Abstract:
The exemplary embodiments disclosed herein provide a transparent LCD which is placed between a front glass and a rear glass. A light guide is preferably positioned behind the LCD and contains an edge. A plurality of LEDs are positioned adjacent to the edge and a cavity is positioned on the opposite side of the LEDs as the light guide. Generally, light which is exiting the LEDs is permitted to enter both the light guide as well as the cavity. A graphic may be placed in front of the cavity and could be bonded to the front glass.
Abstract:
A drawer assembly is disclosed that includes a removable container ad a receiving tray. The container has a housing having at least one shaped surface and at least one horizontal alignment element coupled to and projecting from the housing. The receiving tray has a base having a redirection feature and at least one horizontal alignment hole in the base that is configured to accept the horizontal alignment element. The container and receiving tray are configured such that downward motion of the container with the shaped surface of the housing in contact with the redirection feature of the base induces a lateral motion of the container according to the engagement of the shaped surface and the redirection feature that causes the horizontal alignment element to slide into the horizontal alignment hole.
Abstract:
A checkout stand having a circular turret rotatable about a central axis and a damping cylinder including a piston rod. The first end of the rod is pivotally attached to a location outside the perimeter of the turret, and the second end of the rod is pivotally attached to a location on the circular turret offset from the central axis.
Abstract:
A mobile terminal booth which provides an area where a mobile terminal can be comfortably used is described. This mobile terminal booth is provided with a sound absorbing unit which is placed in a public place and partially partitions a space as viewed from the above where a user of a mobile terminal can have a telephone conversation. The sound absorbing unit is provided with an entrance which is always opened without any closing member. The sound absorbing unit is made of a laminate consisting of a plurality of sound absorbing layers, and serves as a sound controlling means. Particularly, the sound absorbing layers are joined together in the form of the laminate with a viscous adhesive which does not solidify after formation of said laminate, maintains its viscosity when the mobile terminal booth is used and functions as said sound controlling member.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are provided that use a mobile robotic device to transport rechargeable batteries between a base station, which charges the batteries, and a battery operated device, such as battery powered kiosk or signage system, which uses a charged battery as a power source. After traveling to a battery operated device, the mobile robotic device removes any discharged batteries from the battery operated device and installs a charged battery. The mobile robotic device then travels to the base station and attaches the discharged battery to the base station for recharging. The mobile robotic device may be configured to perform other transfers, such as data transfers and paper transfers. In addition, the mobile robotic device may be configured to perform a photographic and spatial survey of the isles, retail shelves, and surrounding environment for various purposes, such as generating three-dimensional store models and remote viewing.
