摘要: Many garments made of denim material have factory created one or more discontinuities exposing a group of parallel threads and referred to as “distressed denim”. Sometimes, some or all of these threads become torn or rips or tears occur in the denim garment to create a discontinuity. A patch to cover the discontinuity is made of a plurality of side by side threads attached to one side of an adhesive panel and fabric material is attached to the other side of the adhesive panel. The threads, or entire patch, may be printed with indicia.

摘要: A method of correcting, in a composite component, an inappropriate countersink with an inappropriate maximum diameter and/or depth, the inappropriate countersink being provided in the composite component at a fixation opening having a first opening diameter, the method comprising at least the steps of: Preparing a repair patch; Arranging the repair patch on the composite component in an area surrounding the inappropriate countersink; Pressing the repair patch at least partly into the inappropriate countersink by means of an associated pressure tool; and Fixing the repair patch in the inappropriate countersink.

摘要: An acoustic panel (200) for an aircraft nacelle (100) may comprise a perforated first skin (220), a second skin (230), and a core (210) sandwiched between them. A damaged portion of the perforated first skin may be removed. A fiberglass ply (510) may be coupled to the acoustic panel. A pressure differential may cause the fiberglass ply to form dimples (515) within the perforations (325) of the first skin. The fiberglass ply may be used as a template to drill holes in a replacement patch (400).

摘要: A procedure for repairing a polymer matrix composite component is provided. The procedure includes the steps of: providing a polymer matrix composite component having a site prepared for repair by removal of damaged or defective material; locating an uncured, polymer matrix composite repair patch at the site to re-build the component thereat; and curing the polymer matrix of the repair patch by heating the patch using eddy currents induced by one or more alternating current coils. The repair patch is without metallic additives, such that the repaired polymer matrix composite after the curing step is also without metallic additives in the vicinity of the repair patch.

The method includes forming and curing on the contoured structure an armature formed of materials that are curable at a temperature lower than a service limit temperature of materials of the contoured structure and removing the armature from the contoured structure and placing the armature with prepregs laminated thereon in an oven to heat cure the armature and the prepregs to form a repair patch.

摘要: Methods and systems for monitoring an integrity of electrical connectivity between a repair patch and a parent structure include providing the repair patch with an embedded sensor configured to detect electrical conductivity. The repair patch includes a ply of conductive material that overlaps a portion of a conductive layer of the parent structure. A baseline set of sensor data is acquired from the sensor indicative of an electrical connectivity between the ply of conductive material of the repair patch and the conductive layer of the parent structure. One or more additional sets of data may be obtained from the sensor and compared to the baseline set of data to determine an integrity of the electrical connectivity between the ply of conductive material of the repair patch and the conductive layer of the parent structure.
