    摘要: An apparatus for treating gas introduced into a vessel containing a particulate material at a temperature less than that of the gas in a manner so that said material reduces the temperature of the gas and the gas entrains at least a portion of the material. The entrained material is then separated from the gas and passed to a heat exchanger to cool the material while the separated gas is passed to a turbine to drive same. At least a portion of the exhaust gas from the turbine is passed to the heat exchanger in a manner to fluidize the material in the heat exchanger and the cooled separated material is returned back to the vessel.

    摘要: A moving granular bed dust removal and reaction apparatus using glanular reaction agent as a granular bed material comprises a generally cylindrical, air-tight vessel disposed vertically, which has a gas outlet port, a reaction agent supply port and a reaction agent storage portion in an upper portion thereof, a gas inlet port, a gas chamber connected to the gas inlet port and a reaction agent passage defined in the gas chamber by a louver device in an intermediate portion and a lower portion having a regulatable discharge device. The reaction agent passage of the intermediate portion is communicated with a lower end of the reaction agent storage portion form a single column of reation agent. The regulatable discharge device regulates the moving speed of granular reaction agent supplied through the reaction agent supply port and allows it to move down by gravity to fill the single reaction agent column while filtering and adsorbing dust and toxic substances contained in upwardly moving gas therethrough.

    摘要: An apparatus and method for cleaning hot gases containing gaseous contaminants and particulate contaminants, including sticky components where a vessel contains a walled housing and a divider which separates an enclosed area therebetween into dirty and clean gas sections. A moving bed of coarse particulate material is contained in the walled housing with gases, after flow through a portion of the moving bed, passing into the second section where hollow, ceramic, barrier filter units remove the remaining solids therefrom. Sorbent material removes gaseous contaminants, sticky components are retained in the moving bed of coarse particulate material, and the filter units remove fines so that the hot gases are discharged clean from the vessel.

    摘要: A vapor generating system in which a furnace section is provided that is formed by four upright walls, the lower portion of two opposed walls being slanted inwardly to form a hopper portion. A plurality of openings are formed in each of the opposed walls immediately above its slanted portion. Two gasifiers extend adjacent said opposed wall portions, respectively, and surround the respective slanted wall portions and openings, so that the respective interiors of the gasifiers communicate with the openings. A bed of adsorbent material is supported in each gasifier for adsorbing the sulfur generated as a result of the gasification of fuel introduced into the gasifier and air is passed through the bed of adsorbent material to fluidize said material so that, upon combustion of said fuel, a substantially sulfur-free product gas is produced which passes from the gasifier, through the openings and into the furnace section.

    摘要: Sulfur-containing fuels are converted to substantially sulfur-free combustible gas in an integrated process involving part combustion in a dense phase fluidized conversion bed of particles comprising alkaline earth metal oxides. An oxygen-containing gas is passed into the base of the bed to maintain a relatively high fuel/air ratio. Sulfur is chemically fixed in the particles by reaction to form alkaline earth metal sulfide. Particles containing alkaline earth metal sulfide are circulated from one region of the conversion bed to one region of a dense phase fluidized regeneration bed operated at a higher temperature and fluidized by passing into the base thereof an oxygen-containing gas which exothermically regenerates chemically active alkaline earth metal oxide from the sulfide liberating gases which have a low oxygen content and a relatively high content of sulfur moieties (e.g. SO.sub.2). Hot particles are circulated from a second region of the regeneration bed to a second region of the conversion bed for use in fixing further quantities of sulfur from sulfur-containing fuel. Both beds contain a high molar proportion of unreacted alkaline earth metal oxide thereby imparting high sulfur-retaining capability to the conversion bed, and the beds interact cooperatively with each other at least in that particles entering the regeneration bed moderate temperatures therein and particles entering the conversion bed add heat thereto thereby reducing the fuel requirement for maintaining the conversion bed temperature.
